Hi all, after much searching I have finally found a dyno tune shop within 80 miles of my home in Erie PA. The place is called Hutters Performance and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with theses guys. I was told they do excellent work but would like to hear how others have done, any and all opinions appreciated.
Just curious. What mods have you done to require dyno tuning? I've seen a number of folks who think they need a dyno tune, when a regular computer tune would be more than adequate. Some folks think that a tune can't be good, unless they see numbers on a dyno sheet. For me, and for most folks, I think that SOTP driving feel, and the overall driving experience behind the wheel are more important.
As I said, I don't know what mods you've done, so I can't really know what motivated your search.
don't bother tuning a stock car. get intake, headers and tune then it's worth. then let the modding begin.
A dyno tune is expensive. Do some mods like Drew suggested, and then just get a good computer tune from someone who really knows their stuff. A dyno for what you have is a waste of money that could better be spent on mods.
Do some searches here to find the intake, headers , exhaust, maybe heads or cam you may want, and then get the tune. If you want to see numbers on a sheet, then cough up the big bucks for a "dyno tune."
You can get a mail order tune from a lot of the big corvette tuners here in the ny/nj area. I am assuming you have a c5 or c6, and if you have an auto there is even more benefit to a tune. The bolt on mods are good to have but you can still benefit from the mail order tune on a stock car with out spending the big bucks on a dyno tune.
Or wait and go to Carlisle in August, lots of tuners do a flash stock tune there for as little as $100 I belive.
Thanks guys, I would love to go to Carlisle. I am concerned about what all is involved if I go. Can someone give me a few pointers about a first visit to Carlisle, like motel, hotel, restaraunts and general info? all help appreciated

You can do a search here for info on Carlisle which is at the end of
August. There will be plenty of posts before about where to stay, group rates etc. However, if you are in Erie, Pa, (not sure how far that is from Carlisle) you might just want to drive up for the day on Saturday. Alot of us from the NY/NJ area do that even though it is about 3 hrs each way. You can get a tune, exhaust upgrade, or just browse around, and enjoy the day without staying over at a hotel.
