NY trackday
I live on the West coast now, but as an upstate native, I remember the long winter months and wishing I could take the fun car out. Here's something to think about in the meantime for those of you that appreciate what your car is truly capable of. A good friend of mine somehow managed to get a track day going at Monticello Motor Club outside Monticello, NY. It is a HUGE (4.1 mile) very exclusive track in Sullivan county. Generally you'd have to pay the 50k membership fee and $3500/yr to get on this track...Getting out there for under $300 is a steal. He is limiting run groups to 26 cars, which on such a big track will make you feel almost lonely. Very nice. A few of the auto clubs that have been there were only allowed to use the smaller track because some of the members didn't want the "renters" on the full track. If he indeed gets to use the full course, he'll sell out all spots in no time.
