Well my buds and I went and what a disappointment. Very lite overall had a good time with my buds and that is what it is all about.
Next year I think I will pass and save the $$$$ and time, Could have stayed home driven and looked at my C2.

That's was my thought about attending an indoor show. I have been to them before and they are often an excuse to hang out with frinds. (though I did not attend the show in AC).

Go to Carlisle in Pa. in Aug. . It is awesome:

I agree also. Went last year and It was "okay". This year was supposed to be bigger and better. I don't think it was. I got there fri. night and spent about 3 hours there on saturday and drove back home. If there's a show again next year I think I'll take the wife to A/C and spend a few days at a casino with her. Then drop her off at the outlet stores while I check out the show. I definitely wouldn't go strictly for the show!

I was looking at pics taht AutoBuffs posted yesterday. There didn't appear to be any people there. Maybe it's the economy.

My son and I went and were underwhelmed--especially at $20 a ticket. To be fair, the AC booklets they handed out gave us 6 free drinks so I guess we broke even. But I doubt that I'd go again. Save the money for gas to go to Carlisle.

Not that I'm tryin' to "sell" this show or anything, but next year states that Barrett-Jackson will be holding one of their auctions inside the show floor. What I'm hoping for is that along with the money that participates in one of these car auctions maybe, just maybe that will draw many of the bigger, national vendors that we all like to see.

I had a great time but I went to see people/friends. I think a lot of the quality cars did not show up due to the weather forecast for Sunday when they had to drive home. So if you had a quality car and did not have a trailer you probably passed on the show. There was also a nice vendor turnout. I think this show has tons of potential. I was actually there half the day and did not get to see everything be it the cars or vendors but like I said I had a great time talking to all the people.

I hope to be able to attend next year and spend the entire weekend.

If BJ does attend next year it will be a huge event and probably tough to get a spot. Carlisle should also think about doing their auction there if BJ does not.

I drove down from Staten Island on Sat. meet a few vettes on the road. Stayed at the show for 2 hrs and drove home. The only vendor that impressed me was Chuck from Corvettes of Westchester, he was showing a 2010 GS with an Edelbrock supercharger that he insalled, it was very nice. Very disappointed at the show and not many people there. We had more fun on the way home with a A8 audi, and a porsche. Luckily we did not end up in jail. LOL

I don't understand posts like this.

If you didn't have a good time, then fine, but why try to drag everyone else down to your level. It's opinions like yours that bring down potential up-and-coming events.

Did Carlisle start out with a bazillion cars over several days? It grew over the years until it was a huge success. Now people want instant gratification. It's either a knock-you-socks off event or a waste of time. Personally, I liked the fact that I could go up to any vendor table and actually have a conversation, not just the next number in the line or hordes of people crowding tables.

I had a good time at the 2nd ever show there in AC. Non-support will close it down, and then the same people complaining about the show will wonder where it went.

Why shouldnt people be able to voice their opinions ? If I drove 2+ hours to a car show that I was unhappy with , I sure as hell would want to let other people know to warn them off or at least let them know how I felt.

Same with a bad shop , dealership ect . If it sucks , people should know ....

The whole "sweep it under the rug" mentality is wrong .

It is only the second year and the show has doubled since last year. I think it would have been even bigger and better had rain not been in the forecast. This show has TONS of potential and is on the right track.

I had a blast but it was more of a social event for me. I wish I had more time to talk to vendors and look at cars.

It is in AC so if you are a participant what more could you ask for. You can hit the casino's during your down time.

Tons of GREAT places to eat.

It is at an excellent facility with plenty of room for trailers etc.

There are plenty of rooms in the area for outsiders.

The only thing I would change would be to create a corvette only parking area down in the indoor parking area so everybody would be comfortable driving their vette to the show if you were not in it. That said there did seem to be safe parking and plenty of other vettes down there to park next to but a designated area always makes me feel better.

I had a blast.

Can't wait until next year.

Not only did this show suck! The worst I have seen for my $20 and too all who participated and applies to:
1. If you bring your car there and park it like its in a parking lot eg. leave the hood, doors and other parts closed, stay home.
2. If you display it properly but put it behind ropes so I cant see it anyway, stay home.
3. Do both of the above, stay home.
4. Do an awesome custom extreme modify and set up 1000 different mirrors, literature, and trophies then proceed to rope your awesomely crafted machine so far away I cant see any of your work, stay home. And a final note can they limit the 67 big blocks next time. I love them but I don't know how so many were there and where the variety was at for the mid years or the C1's.

Well I guess everybody can voice there opinion, no harm no foul. I actually drove down in my DD, stayed at the Sheraton, which is a very nice hotel for a non-casino hotel and I can't believe the buildup in the surrounding area; there are so many outlet malls and shopping to do that I can't see being bored unless you are attached to your corvette by the door sill. I did take some pics for anyone who cares. And I for one happened to like the fact that it wasn't overly crowded, you could talk to any vendor without a long wait and could get up close to the cars without being elbowed by ten thousand people up my nose.

C'mon son, smile for daddy!!!

That's more like it

Now he is just downright excited!!

I took a ride down today with my kids. We all had a great time looking at some beautiful cars. $20.00 in my world is a bargain (kids were free) to be around vettes all day. I for one hope the show continues and grows every year. I own a C4 with not much vendor support but I understand why and can appreciate the new stuff (C5/C6).

If you like to spend 2 1/2 hrs driving plus gas and tolls and $20 to get in for that show you are
Entitled to do so.

thanks for the pics folks, due to family obligations I couldn't get there this year. I hope this show continues to grow and gets a lot bigger. BTW, an 830hp ZR-1, way to go ECS.

Well, I was down there from Friday afternoon for the 1st time. For the $ it cost me to enter for the weekend I thought was a pure bargain. I stayed right across the street at the Sheraton which turned out to be not only convenient, but an all around good hotel. I met a bunch of fellow Corvette owners, Spent plenty of time talking to vendors with no time restraints, chatted with Corvette enthusiasts who were interested in the work done to my car, gave and received advice on the wonderful cars we own, and drank, gambled and ate!!! Well didn't really gamble. Would I drive 3 hours for 1 day? No. But to be in the show, yes, and I'm sure next year will be even bigger and I will be there again. Just my .02......

I also agree with Rare and AgentF but I also gotta be in the middle. I like to hear the good and bad because it's my hope that the powers that may be, will listen and do better next year. I think we should air our comments but let not discourage folks not to go. Especially since it is still a new show. Folks cant expect it to be a Carlisle, Bloomington or Mid-America level show. I did not make my whole weekend for the show. I built my AC weekend around the show. My clubs members and I drove up on Friday night and did the dinner thing. Hit Ballys/Caesars/Borgata and slept. Saturday morning we had a wonderful breakfast, then stopped at Kerbeck's (a must) to see some new Vettes and what a display they put on (also they are offering $7300 off of all 43 Grand Sports in stock - unbelievable!). Then we went to the show. Brought a few things at the outlets. Then we hit the casinos later that night and a visit to the Bogata late late Saturday night. We even got back up to go back to Kerbeck Sunday morning just to have some more fun looking at all the Vettes and Camaros they had in stock. We were finally on the road back to Baltimore around 2pm. Now my recap of the show......

The show was a hit and a miss for me.
Vendors - Were good but the major ones except West Coast where still missing. Kerbeck Chevy did not support it either. Attendance- Yes, not that many people visit the show but I am not complaining here because I could take some decent pics of the cars in the show! Car Show - folks were complaining about indecisiveness of the judging plus they rolled everyone who trailered their Vette into ONE CLASS regardless of generation or stock/modified status. Price - was good (we got a discount - $15 plus kids got in free. The cost for the vedor spots are going to drive people away. They better lower that cost or the vendors are going to flee! Future Outlook - is good. The city and state are supporting the show big time. Lots of advertisting! Potential is very good if they have a short term plan for the overall future of the show but if not, this show is going to be a faded memory. I like the Barrett Jackson rumor. I hope it happens but with out some more major tweaking, I will look at this show as nothing more as a three hour stop for me. Jeff

Here are our pics!
