Used C6 with mods?
I'm new to the forum but have lurked every now and then for a year or so. About 2 months ago I purchased a 2007 Corvette from a private car lot in NJ. The salesman said it had some work done to it but he's not sure what. The previous owner had some mods done by a shop and when he sold it he told the salesman about the mods but that salesman is no longer working there and nothing was marked in the paperwork. I took it for a test drive while I was out there and it ran great and sounded mean. I decided to buy it and now it's sitting in the garage of my new house in NJ. I'm currently in the process of moving from CA, so I'm not with the car at the moment. My question is, is it possible to tell what has been done to the car by just scanning it or looking for something? I don't know much about engines and tuning but I can see that it at least has an air intake, headers, and an exhaust. I don't know if anything else has been done and the car dealer was no help. I also don't want to bring it to a dealership. Especially since I don't know them that well to trust them with the car. Any recommendations on what I should do?
Thanks

If there are any markings on the mods ( serial numbers, etc), you may be able to trace the numbers back to the manufacturer, and find out who bought them. You can also inquire at several shops in the area to see if any of them did the work by using the car's vin #'s. ECS, TTP, Vette Doc's, Corvettes of Westchester, are some of the well known vendors here.
If you got a carfax, you can trace where the car was registered, and check all the local shops.
Who did you buy the car from, and where are they located?

Good advice here from Ralph. All tuners log and record what they do and to what VIN they do it. Once here (New Jersey) just check in with the area tuners and give each contact your VIN. Other than that a good Corvette shop and tuner would be able to look the car over and scan what perimeters have been changed from factory settings. Best of everything Corvette and welcome (back?) to the Garden State.

And BTW, Ed, you have the coolest avatar in the Northeast section...
