Default Bear mountain, permit needed?

Quick question- I've only been to bear mountain once and it was in the camaro, but for a newer vehicle like the vettes, do you need a special permit for the cruise/show or is it still just the $8?

Also- What time do things get going? Last year I got there way too late (7ish)

thanks- Dan

edit- oops, wrong area, meant to be in northeast!

If you want to park on the field, the cost depends on year of your car.
If your car is 1991 or newer then you must pay $40 for the yearly club fee. If your car is 1990 and older then its a $4 state parking fee to park on the field.
the $40 yearly club fee will exempt you from the $4 state fee.

Officially its 6pm to 9pm but people start getting there earlier.
it also depends on the night as far as when people leave.

Hmm....Last year I thought it was $2 to get in, $40 to park on the grass. Weather looks good tonight (June 2nd)...I'll probably head up there...Look for a bright green Lambo; Come by and say 'Hi'.

last year was $4 also. two years ago it was $2.
I heard that that the $4 is broken down to $2 going to the state and the other $2 paying for the police that are up there now.

You're probably right...

Was a pretty good turnout last night...Weather was perfect...

A friend of mine just moved back to the area; he had his 2010 Camaro there, and that thing is a monster...Supercharger, heads, cam, injectors, etc...Said it put down 705 hp at the wheels on 100 octane/ ~650 hp on pump.

We're supposed to do a dragstip night in the next couple of weeks to see how I stack up against him.
