Technical Support Engineer

We are looking for a talented, motivated, and customer-focused Technical Support Engineer to join the growing AccuRev services team and help our customers implement and use AccuRev's award-winning SCM software product suite.

AccuRev's software is used by our customers in large mission-critical software development projects. Success requires a high degree of discipline, focus, dedication and creativity.

Responsibilities
• Work directly with AccuRev's customers and prospects via e-mail, phone and Web based technologies to resolve their technical support issues
• Use strong troubleshooting capabilities and in-depth product knowledge to resolve technical issues and provide workarounds as necessary
• Provide product usage guidance to customers to minimize their learning curve
• Handle escalated support issues, working closely with Engineering
• Reproduce and file software defects reported by customers and prospects
• File enhancement requests by customers and prospects, work with Marketing on providing detail for future requirements when applicable
• Train / Mentor Technical Support employees and improve their training
• Creation of FAQ’s for use internally and by customers

Requirements
• Strong Customer focus and advocacy - the ability to understand the needs and priorities of customers and the desire to meet their expectations
• Experience using Software Configuration Management products such as AccuRev, ClearCase, CM/Synergy, CVS, Visual SourceSafe, or Dimensions
• Excellent troubleshooting and debugging capabilities
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent follow-through skills
• Ability to work well in a remote team environment
• Computer skills – basic scripting (Perl, shell, .bat), basic OS administration (Windows and Unix/Linux), basic network infrastructure
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• AS/BS in technical discipline or 2-3 years software support experience
Highly Desired
• Working knowledge of software development and software build processes/tools
• Experience with various scripting languages, including Perl, UNIX shell scripts and Windows batch files
