Hey guys... I work for a trucking company and was just offered a promotion. I'll be transferring to Pittsburgh from upstate NY. I don't know much about the city in terms of where to live. I will be working downtown so being close is important. I'd like to spend between $800-$1,000/month and it's hard to to tell from ads if some of these places are total dumps or what.
Anyone from Pittsburgh? Can you recommend certain areas (or areas to stay away from)? I'm 28... I don't exactly want to be in a building full of obnoxious college students but I'm looking for someplace that is "alive", maybe some good places to eat, good bars, etc. Also, how is public transportation? Thanks for any help, I appreciate it!
just saw your post, I just moved back to pittsburgh a few weeks ago, I lived in pittsburgh for about 8 years before moving away for about 4 years and my wife is from the area. I can definitely give you a some insight if you like, let me know and I can PM you my phone number.
