Crusher137 has Collector registration. I don't know all th edetails, but once you are reistered, go to inspection and what they do is verify that your speedo works. I think you are limited to 2500 miles a year and they check every two.
Hopefully he'll chime in with the details. His is a '93 also.
you have to have collector vehicle insurance
your limit by the state to 3000 miles per year
You can only due this for a new registration or at time of renewal.
You have to do it at motor vehicle
It is an extra $25.00
They will give you a regular registration card and a duplicate that you take to a motor vehicle inspection station.
They check your insurance policy there and also make you drive around the building to make sure your odometor works.
Thats it, your are inspection and emmissions exempt.
It is good for two years.
This is from the DMV website. If I ever got a hard time about how I use my vehicle with QQ plates I would change to "collector" registration. The only driving/use restriction is 3000 miles annually, which I dont come near. MJ
Exemptions
Inspections are not required for certain vehicles such as historic and collector cars.
Historic vehicles at least 25 years old, used only for exhibition purposes or manufactured before 1945, require a special registration and a QQ plate displayed on the rear of the vehicle.
Collector cars display two standard license plates and have a triangular decal on the front left windshield that are valid for two years. The owners must provide proof of miles driven annually (3,000 miles or less) and special insurance (limited use collector vehicle) and renew this status every two years, or if owners change.

I'm in the process opf getting this NOW ;)
why john?? youd pass emissions without a problem
seriously though....do you pass the way the car is right now?
The only thing that stinks is the display of the front plate.. but that is something you can just remove and put on when you have to go to the DMV
Thanks again
And pay an $85.00 ticket :(
:yesnod: yes it is a pricey ticket.
I havent had a front plate on my truck with regular registration for over a year now though......you might get away with it. [knock on wood]
