Default "Run for the Roses" - Sun., Oct 2nd - Whitman, MA

I’m attaching this flyer and information now because I want to make sure you all have this event highlighted on your calendar! The “Run for the Roses” motorcycle, Corvette, classic car run is extremely meaningful to South Shore Corvette Club (Weymouth, MA) as Joe and Priscilla Matterazzo (parents and grandparents of Rachel and Lillian Rose) are members of our club. Good has come from this tragedy, and South Shore Corvette Club is a proud sponsor of the Run for the Roses. More info can be found at http://www.rachelandlillianrosefound...the_Roses.html

Thanks.

Elaine

Is this an organized run with police escort and such?

I'm sure many of you remember the Neil Entwistle case. He's the British husband who murdered his young wife and 9-month old baby. The parents and grandparents of the wife, Rachel, and baby Lillian are members of my Corvette club...South Shore Corvette Club...so the "Run for the Roses" is very near and dear to a lot of us here in MA.

The annual run is this Sunday, October 2nd, and directly benefits the fight against domestic violence and child abuse in memory of Rachel and Lillian.

The run starts and ends at the Whitman VFW (MA). The attached flyer explains it all.

I hope to see many of you on Sunday. The forecast looks fantastic!

Elaine

The weather gods were certainly with us yesterday as the third annual “Run for the Roses” was held without a drop of rain! I can’t even begin to estimate how many motorcycles were involved this year, but it wouldn’t surprise me if that number is at least 400. I also lost count of the Corvettes. There were plenty from South Shore Corvette Club, as well as other clubs and some with no club affiliation. Then there were the hotrods. Fantastic turnout, fantastic day! This event just gets better every year and if you weren’t able to make it today, you’ll have to put it on your to-do list for next year.

Thanks to all who made it. I know Joe and Priscilla Matterzzo thank you all, too. Watch for pictures – www.rachelandlillianrosefoundation.org
