Are you going to be or do you want to take a road trip to maryland any time soon? A little drive but I'm happy to help you out if you want.

Doug, thanks for the offer. If I ever to get in the mood to take the 4+ hour drive I'll let you know. For now, Im going to see if I can get something done locally....

As an FYI, I am now just going to replace the HUD instead of fixing it. I got a good deal on a used one.....

Oh let me tell you, I'm not a master mechanic by far. It scared the crap out of me to take my dash apart. But using the forums on here to help, I think just about anyone can do it themselves. The fix only costs about .89 cents for a screw, and the time to take it out. It would be a shame to have anyone pay for something so easy. It's a matter of removing around 13 screws and a few nuts. Plus it gives you the time to get to know your car better. If you have the new HUD on it's way, then even easier. Just be careful because the problem that happened to the last one could someday happen again, it's such a cheap part that breaks. And with the fix, in my opinion, makes it stronger. If you decide that you want to do it yourself, let me know and I'll be more then happy for you to call me and I can talk you through the whole thing. All you need is a ratchet 7mm, 10mm, flat head screw driver, and a T15 (star) bit. Common stuff. If you find someone to do it for really cheap, more power to ya. If not, you would hate yourself for having someone else do it if you knew how easy it is. Either way, good luck and I hope everything works out for you!

doug, again, thanks for the offer. I would rather leave the dash to someone who has done it before....If something does not pan out here on LI, I may take you up on the offer...
