After a lot of online research about changing energy suppliers I concluded that it was indeterminate to figure out if i would get any real savings. First the part of you bill that has the delivery charge won't change. So then you have to compute the supply part that is a commodity. Since that is always changing you would have to speculate on future prices that PS&G would be higher then the other companies fixed annual rate.. I think some time you may win and some time you may loose. That site says the rate is 0.799/therm, my last pse&g bill has it as 0.667/therm

As Steve concluded, it's almost not worth it. I've seen friends switch, and pay the same or even more.

However, I did recently sign a PPA with a solar company to install and maintain panels on my roof. Zero upfront cost. They own and are responsible for everything, I just pay for the power they provide, which is 2/3rds what PSE&G is charging me now.

Something else to ponder, during a local power outage (your house/residence/bldg only) they will be more apt to service and restore power to thier customers first. You will get serviced, but after their customers. Same thing with phone and internet service. AT&T customers get serviced first, then the tech gets to the others.
