NCM Insurance???

I'm looking for anyone that has any experience with the NCM Insurance. Are all of their policies put through this third party company? What are your experiences with them? How are they with claims?
I did a google search for complaints and found a few things that I didn't like that made me a little nervous. I also realize that these can be isolated incidents as told by disgruntled people who are just posting one side of a story. All the same, I'd like to get a little more info before I put my cars with this company. it would be nice to save some money, but not at the expense of having to worry about things.

I still have a couple of weeks to decide, but I am a bit nervous about it.
Some of the things I found online are stories where they do whatever they can to not pay a claim.
Saving money is usually a good thing for me, but not when the price is loss of peace of mind.
I think I can live within the traditional restrictions that come with these type policies since I've been doing it with the GTO for almost 15 years, so that isn't too much of an issue.
I just don't want to have to worry about fighting with them when they are being unreasonable about what I was doing, or where I was doing it, in the event that I have to put in a claim.
I've checked with JC Taylor in the past and they were reluctant to write the Vette (because of it's age) unless it was part of a collection of them. Even if they were to write it the price for the agreed value would be about what I was paying State Farm for a traditional policy.
I checked with one of the other "specialty" companies a year or two ago and their price was about the same as JC Taylor for the Vette (around the same as State Farm), and their price (the other specialty comapany) for the GTO
was also about the same as JC Taylor. That led me to believe that most specialty companies are all around the same price, if not underwritten by the same people.
Meanwhile, the company that I was steered to by the NCM was several hundred cheaper on the Vette, and about 25% cheaper on the GTO for identical coverage. That kind of raised me up a bit.
If it's a good deal, I'm all for it. But sometimes a deal can be just too good to be true.

It doesn't surprise me that the service from Adam at the NCM has been good because they are a first rate operation. My dealings with them during the Buyer's Tour and my two visits there have been excellent.
I would feel a lot better about going with this company if I got some favorable responses from people who have had to put in a claim with them. But so far I haven't gotten any so the only thing I have to go on is the negative stuff I uncovered on the internet.

Good luck!

Good luck!
I tried them once before and they were about the same as what I'm paying State Farm for the Vette with a regular policy and JC Taylor for the GTO.
It's worth another try though.
JC Taylor doesn't have a mileage limit either. Their two big ones are not using it for work (need proof of DD) and basically don't let it out of your sight.
I don't use the Vette to commute to work, although I have been known to take it on a ride out east on a nice day to get a statement at someone's house once or twice. I don't take it to go shopping at the Mall either. I might run in to a store for a few minutes, but that isn't a problem with them.
Neither of the restrictions have been a problem for all the years I've had the GTO with them. But they didn't want to write the Vette, because it is too new, unless I can show it's part of a collection.
That's what got me thinking about the NCM insurance so when I happened to be there a couple of Sundays ago I picked up a brochure and called about a price when I got home.
I was transferred to a third party company that I'd never heard of in all the years I've been involved in the collector car hobby. Their price ws great on the Vette so I asked about the GTO. Their price was about 25% lower on the GTO which sounded good, but it got me thinking so I started doing a little research on the internet. I found some horror stories.

Good luck!

I have experienced the same thing each and every time I take the time to go shopping for insurance whether it be for the house (even AARP is underwritten=The Hartford) and when comparing apples to apples my Grundy policies can't be beaten. I believe one of the reasons is a "Loyalty Discount" that any of the advertised bargain policies can't touch. I've tried 3 or 4 collector car insurance providers, but they've never saved me anything compared to my Grundy and usually have restrictions that don't please me. Sometimes "The grass really ISN'T greener."

Previously the camaro was with Grundy and the vettes were with my daily driver policy.

Last summer I made the switch to Grundy. They wrote both the 68 GTO and the C6 for what was the lowest price (although not by that much) of all of the companies I checked with. Since the price difference wasn't all that much, the deciding factor was more the positive feedback I got about them.
Glad I made the switch.
