Not a good day for me. I made two runs. On the first run I pulled an engine code and the car went into reduced power when I went into fourth. I still managed a 12.3 @ 114. I was surprised I even got that. The second I raced Turtle Bob, who has basically the same package, and I missed 3rd so I didn't get back into the gas. Bob ran an 11.3.

I let Campisi make a pass in my car, but he missed every gear. At least I made second.

I saw a few of the Cartek guys really getting the power to the ground. When it's done right, it looks real good. I think it was Brent and Mark getting the low numbers for them.

Bill (boweryboy), has his launch down solid and I think he'll be in the 10's next time out. Bill, Bob and Chris ran the best times from our shop pulling off mid to low 11's at 124+. Ken ran an 11.8 with his 2002 Z06. No engine work on that baby, just skinnys and ET streets, headers and an air box. Wait till he gets the H/C done, he'll run that like a mad man.

It will take me some seat time to learn to put the power to the ground. I had drag radials on and both times I only managed a 2.0 60'. :bb I was surprised the second run I heated them up real good, launched at 4k and still spun the crap out of them.

Before the Heads, I ran 12.2 on street tires with 380 hp to the rear wheels. I know I'll get it down, it'll just take some practice. Maybe a few runs out at ATCO if the invitation is still open.

It was funny when stealth asked what RPM I was going through the traps at and I couldn't answer him cause I hadn't made it that far yet under power.

It was all good friendly fun and luckily no one went home on a flat bed.

Mike I wasnt talking smack!! It was just friendly hypeing up before the races just like boxers do before a match. Im not embarrassed to say what I ran. I only made 3 passes with this new combo in the afternoon when it was hot out. My 60ft times sucked 1.90-2.0 and 11.80-11.90 @ 122. This is a new combo and still needs some tweaking but the most part I need to improve my launching skills and get ET streets. I too also experienced that REDUCED ENGINE POWER as i was crossing the finish line. What is that all about???? It scared the crap outa me. The car was idling rough and i thought I blew the motor up

With all this new HP and 4.10's its hard to launch this car with out spinning. The 4.10's along with the shorter tire height of my BFG's the overall gear ratio was more then 4.10.

Sorry Mike, I thought you were talking about me. :seeya

my00c5 - Funny, I thought I blew my motor too. All I could think about, getting my time slip, was how much the flat bed was going to cost me to go back to LI. None of us had a trailer. Did you guys figure out what that was? if we do I'll pass it along.

We didnt find out. All we did was shut off motor and disconected battery and the engine light was off and the DIC warning was off.

Cartek is suppose to get a track rental day soon so Julio can do more tuning with my car.

  What's up with that? Dont you have a short throw shifter? Wow that sucks about the engine acting up. As far as you heating up the drag radials, did you do your burnout in 2nd gear? Also I thought were you running et streets? It sounds like I missed out on lots of fun. I'll see you tuesday if you are around. I'm stoping by Carmen's to get the loudmouth put in :D
Hey My00c5 I knew you really werent talking smack, I was just kidding dude. I knew your comments were all in friendly jest, so was mine :jester That is pretty weird how both you and levrac68's car had the same problem  I hope you get it all worked out

Mike you need to read the posts. I put their times in my reply. I was going to run the ET streets with 410 gears but I changed it all after 1 run at the hamptons nearly put me in the bleechers. I borrowed Phils drag radials and put the 342s back in. The 410s and the Z tranny were'nt a good match for my taste.

If you're there Tuesday, don't expect me to be. ;)
