Default ZIPITY's New Ride!

Well I figured I would post these sooner or later, so here goes.

YES I still have my 04 CE Z06, now I have another LS powered car to play with. After 12 years of driving base model mini vans and SUVs as company owned cars, my company moved to car allowances. This allows us to drive whatever we want, within reason of course. Well I am making up for the past 12 years in the FUN category with this car.

Plus I can tell folks, it's a Pontiac, they don't even make Pontiac's any more. I couldn't justify the price of the CTS-V nor the perception of driving a nearly $70,000 car.

2009.5 Pontiac G8 GXP
White Hot with black/red interior
Sunroof
Manual Transmission
415hp/415tq LS3 V8
One of 1,829 GXP's made and one of 37 as optioned.
These were built in Australia by GM's Holden branch, the same folks that built the recent GTO's.

I bought the car in March and began daily driving it in April. Oh what fun it has been. I found the car for sale in Washington, Michigan; an hour north of Detroit. It had 8,100 miles on the odometer and was originally sold new in Arkansas. It now has over 16,000 on the odometer! I have been to a few car shows and cruise nights with it. Even took 2nd place at a recent GM show and at the Carlisle's GM Nationals it was one of the only GXP's on display. Most folks don't even realize this car was made with the LS3. It was one of three engines available in the G8 and the only way to get a six speed manual.
I added some Corvette and Holden goodies to the car and of course my own vanity license plate. It's the perfect car for a Corvette lover who needs a real back seat and a trunk.

Well onto the pictures;
I made a stop at the GM Technical Center on the drive home.

Removed the GM Chicklet and replaced with the Jake version.

Pretty much the same wheel design as the CTS-V and I replaced the Pontiac center caps with Holden center caps.

My new license plate FOUR DOOR CORVETTE

Under the hood. Owner installed LS3 Fuel Rail Covers.
These things stop people in their tracks at a car show!

Recaro harness system in the back seat!

Thanks Ed, when I grow up I want to be just like you. This isn't quite as kool as a C6 and a C5, but I will take it for sure!

Congrats!!! Those are fun cars!!!

I ran against a few at the track in my CTS-V. Great looking wheels, those are the same wheels that Caddy uses on the 09 and up V's!!

Myself and a few club members are doing a two day HPDE @ Pocono this coming week, and if I'm guessing right Jeff will bring the LS3 Pontiac this year.

If you have to suffer with a company car you picked a good one. I once asked for a company car and the Boss mumbled something about a Yugo.

Love the car Jeff. I didnt realize it was your company car.. How does that work? They pay the car payment and insurance as well as gas?? I have a Company Jeep. I went from a grand caravan to a jeep Liberty and now my company is talking about giving us car allowance?? Do they still keep track of Personal miles??
