Default Dangerous Driver

Not sure if this guy is a member on here but I was very concerned for my children's safety when a "cruise" of 3 corvette's was on Center Street in Raynham, MA today (OCT 6) when one of the members fell behind he crossed the DOUBLE yellow line to be in the same "Line" as his friends and not only jeopardized the lives of me and my children but also that of his wife in the passenger seat as well as those he could have hit in the opposite lane. Was it really necessary to get in front of me ? and pass me in a double yellow ?

If you know this guy tell him he could have waited 1 more traffic light and I would have taken a right and he could have re-joined his 2 other corvette buddies.

He was driving a 1990's Blue Vette with a Massachusetts State Police Sticker next to his plate.

It takes one bad driver to make you ALL look bad.

If I see this guy again I will not hesitate to call both the Raynham Police as well as the State Police.

I doubt it because I have several friends who are on the job here in MA and they would never put their spouse in harms way the way this guy did.

and its not a sham. I just want people to be aware its not safe to cross the double yellow. Just because I am doing the speed limit and you're not happy about it doesn't make it ok for you to break the law and put others in harms way.

Was it necessary he crossed the double yellow? Who knows.

Seriously. Perhaps he needed to follow the others somewhere. He/She didn't know that you were turning at the next light. For all they knew, you could have decided to slam on your brakes and decide to parallel park somewhere causing them to lose the others. Maybe his passenger wife was in labor or going into cardiac arrest and he needed to get to the hospital.

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with his actions. Quite frankly, I don't know the circumstances.

But just because he crossed a double line isn't the end of the world. Have you ever broken the speed limit. Of course you have, and I'll even bet with your children in the car.

How again would him crossing the double line put your life in jepardy. I'd think he was the one putting himself in jepardy and willing to assume the risk and penalties of doing so. But from your tone, I see that your one of these people who try to self police the road. The kind of person that will get in the left lane and hold up traffic just to make a point and **** people off behind you.

Lighten up. And if I've judged you wrong, then think about how you've judged someone else for only a few seconds.

Exactly how did you come to find yourself between the first two and the final one?

Just wondering.

Sure sounds odd.

There was that much room for you to "suddenly" find your way into that moving line of 3?

Right.
Of course.

Or maybe perhaps you suddenly pulled out, invading the line, then pulled your Dudley DooRight, "Im doing the speed limit now" move, then wondered why blue reacted as he did?

I would be very interested to hear what Mr. Blue has to say about what happened, particularly, your driving behavior.

At any rate, I trust you now feel much better, having joined a forum to post your rant, which again makes me wonder even more how it all exactly happened.
Let me guess, did you "speed up"?
You know just to keep him behind?
Most Corvette owners that I know won't risk their lives or cars simply to be stupid.
However I could see someone reacting that way to a nincompoop who felt entitled to break into a line of moving cars, causing number 3 to slam on the brakes to avoid clocking the Volvo wagon of Mr. Safe.

Were you on the phone by any chance?
You know, phoning the police of course.

You will of course pull over and stop before making your future call though , Right?

Glad all turned out well for all involved.

Safe Corvette Driver
Well since you asked I will tell you.
I was driving down the road and on my left is a road that intersects.
the first two corvette's came into the one lane road just fine and the third got "stuck" and didn't have a chance to get with the other two.
It happened so fast I had no idea at first these three were "together" till Blue Vette started to tailgate me.

And No I am not "that guy" who slams on my breaks or gets into the high speed lane or do any of that other "self policing" I leave that to those who get paid for it. Not worth dying for something stupid like that.

I just found it rude and obnoxious to cross the double line in such a residential area just to be "part of the line" and he obviously knew he had a much more powerful car than mine. I mean I have a mainstream car which is a 2011. I only have 15K on the car so its new and can do what I want it to do. But I knew from "go" this guy was being a dick and showing off in front of his girlfriend and I just think it was a stupid move on his part.

And its not a "rant" I mean he is probably a member somewhere on the internet of a car club becuase when I used to own a descent car I was part of a car club too and internet forums and so on and so fourth.

So to end this off I appreciate your "insight" and you "jumping to conclusions" on how I may or may not drive.

Shows me that you are cut from the same cloth as Blue Vette Guy.

As Dr. Phil might say, "and how did that make you feel?"
You seem to have already answered that question.

Never occurred to you to just pull over a litttle bit and let him go by and stay with his friends now did it?
How fast did you have to speed up to beat him?
You know, him being a di%& and a show off and all..................
Of course he knew you were not going to keep poking along as you had your turn signal on the whole time, based on your stellar driving.
Thanks, I have the picture now.
You are just "between cars" as we say, so don't let it bother you so much.
You don't want someone saying that "you are cut from the same cloth" and all, once you are back in your club, but of course you never jump to any conclusions right?
Go to the fridge and have a beer, and put it behind you, and enjoy your family, and teach those kids how to drive properly and courteously by being a great example each and every time you drive.
I remain glad that no one was hurt, and no cars were damaged.

I find it rather strange that you joined a forum just to advise how it makes us look when some engage in this aggresive type of driving you observed...none the less, Ill ask this again.....what will you tell the Police if and when you see this guy again...?

Again I am only posting it here in hopes that he would see it and realize the errors of his ways.

And if I see him again chances are he will drive stupidly again and when he does I can call it in as aggressive driving/ road rage.

Because that's exactly the behavior this guy had today.
Road Rage.

Tailgating, and passing through a double yellow and no turn signals.
so he would get a marked lane violation as well.

That's all folks. I am calling it a night.

And again its not a shot against all Vette drivers. Just the aggressive ones.

I also noticed the "makes YOU all look bad" instead of makes US all look bad. Next time a Ford tailgates me I'm going right to the Ford forum and post how bad it makes all the Ford drivers look. Right...........

I know of some other people that react in a similar way as the OP, lord save us!
