I am sure a lot of you have seen the pics, etc. Here is the GM web site:

Autoweek video gives a lot of info:

I'm sure I'll catch some flak, but I'm not liking it... way too many vents and louvers (think of the detailing Dave!), the giant emblems front and rear which look like they are better suited for remake of smokey and the bandit... and that ugly rear end/tailights... well, I'm not ready to put my deposit down, that's for sure...

I'm on the fence. Love the interior except for the funky grab handle thing. Need to see it in person to make a better judgement. Certainly not hating my C6Z anytime soon.

I find the looks interesting, but not that exciting to me.

Need to see it in person of course but there is sure a lot going on!

Thanks Dave...

Not a fan here either. What is with the Camaro tail lights? I agree about the vents etc.

I'll wait till I see one on the road. I do like the return of the Stingray name, but it should have been Sting Ray.

I too do not like the Camaro back lights, and not sure about side windows. I like the interior. Just my .02.

I was curious about the rear hatch and how it looks/opens. Here's a pic from the C7 site:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c7-g...-c7-hatch.html

Also, here's another video from Automobile Magazine:

OK, so who in the Posse will be the 1st with a C-7? Won't be me as I buy them used and unless I win Lotto the next one most likely will be a C-6 Grand Sport if ever. (only 30K on the C-5) I'm hoping the back end looks better in real life, will probably grow on it over time, didn't really like the C-6 when it came out either but OK with it now.

The design has been growing on me. I kind of like it. Do not know yet about the rear end though. The question is, where is the SC.

When I saw the red car while watching the unveiling live my first thought was what the heck were they thinking in selecting those wheels for the premier and what was with the conflicting lines of the rear? There's no doubt now, if there ever was, that they were trying to WOW a younger audience. Wonder how many of that group have the means to actually buy one? In one video the designer was asked about the tail lights and his explanation was that they were trying to appeal to a younger crowd. While I suppose that's a reason I was struck by the stylists shelving a key traditional styling aspect and likely causing a negative reaction from the folks who make up their largest market. Hopefully the market research guys didn't get this one as wrong as those fellows from Ford who years ago thought the Edsel would give them a new and exciting market…….. Seriously, there's no doubt this will be a highly sought after car and worthy of the name Stingray. As with the controversial changes made to earlier models this one will grow on us over time.

I do like the nose and the hood lines. The side view is nice except for the side fender vent which appears at too great an angle to blend well with the other lines of the design. The fender vent along with the vent on top of the rear fenders look like add-ons. The after-market will have a field day with this car! I wouldn't doubt that a round tail light package wouldn't be in the works as we speak. Next will be body-colored rear fender vents and rear end vent grills along with a chrome/billet side fender grill. No doubt the rear will likely be a focal point to mod as there's just too many tangential lines, poorly integrated vents (although functional) and it's just too busy overall. GM has a history of leaving room for many improvements and they haven't disappointed us in that respect.

I sure did like how the car looked in the silver or cyber grey (couldn't tell for sure which it was) as the lines come to life. Coupled with a red interior with aluminum accents should make a nice combination. The rendering from Edmunds of the convertible also looks nice and is supposed to be out in about a year.

I think the sales will be brisk and no doubt you will see many personalized cars being built. It will be interesting to see what the after-market vendors come up with at this year's Corvettes at Carlisle.

Hey Rich, interesting thoughts. We'll see. Generally I like it. I don't think we'll see much (if anything)from the aftermarket guys until the 2014 Carlisle. John

I see an aftermarket for body color vents on the rear fenders. Also a market for Carbon fiber versions.

Same with the hood vent.
