Update from Vegas

I'm writing from my new home, or soon to be home in Las Vegas. A nice opportunity opened-up for me out here with the construction of a new power plant and I decided to give it a try. While I had been advised of it for several months, the actual hiring and move was very quick.
And, before I forget, I'm hiring for some positions (electrical & mechanical maintenance, plant operators, controls, engineers, etc), so if anyone is interested, let me know - you must like the heat!
I will be traveling back about every 2 weeks, so I will be at some future Challenge events, although I will most likely be "moved" by the beginning of November.
I drove out last week (not in the Vette), and it took roughly (3) 12 hour days.
I arrived in Las Vegas Friday evening around 6:00 pm... but...
Before I even checked-in to my hotel, with my car overflowing with junk, I stopped at the Las Vegas MotorSpeedway to watch an evening of racing. There was some sponsored event Fri and Sat, so I watched some preliminary runs of 7 to 9 second cars, as well as some heavy & real street racing. Most of the cars came in from California and there are some serious racers here as well....... I don't think they hold as many events/classes as Etown, but it's good to know a track is only 15 minutes away. It's a very nice facility. I know I'll never get any better ET's due to the heat and elevation, but at least there's a track.
I'll be flying back late Friday night, so I don't know if I'll make it to the show & go, but hopefully I can talk my wife into making the evening challenge race. If not, I'll certainly see you at some point during the season.
I'm "only" 3 - 4 hours away from some of the tracks in southern california and hope to make a number of the West Coast Corvette Challenge races.
Lastly, if anyone plans on visiting the area, let me know and we'll be sure to check-out some of the Vegas attractions.
If I don't get to see everyone at Etown in the upcoming weeks/months, I would like to let you know that it's been a pleasure racing with you!
Dave

Hope to see you Satruday.
