Default Need some help please

Hi all,
New to posting but have been reading here for months. I am on the verge of buying a corvette and I was wandering if there was anybody in the Doylestown, Pa area that would be willing to go along with me to take a second look at the car. I saw it for the first time a week or so ago and I liked what I saw and I liked it when I drove it. Unfortunately, I am not very mechanically inclined and quite frankly, I do not know what to specifically look for as far as any problems that the car may or mat not have. The car is a 2001 Coupe, 6 speed. I am sure I had read at this site that there are some people that are willing to go along with potential buyers and take a look at what they me be purchasing. Know this,,,,I would greatly appreciate any guidance and I, of course would be willing to pay you for your time. If you are interested in helping me out, please let me know how to get in touch with you.

I am not in the area but can offer some simple advice. Go into C5 tech and learn the procedure to pull the codes. Have the owner take you for a ride and then pull the codes after the ride is over while the engine is still running.

Write it all down and post them back up. The c5 engine is a very strong engine. They don't break. The electronics cause more problems than the mechanicals and the codes will help note problems with both.

Don't fool with this yourself. Take the car to a certified mechanic with corvette specific experience. There is no substitute for putting the car on a lift with a trained person looking at everything. I've learned all this the hard way. Even buying a used ,certified car from a dealer is no guarantee you won't get screwed. I found this out after buying a car from Reedman, that was GM certified, Carfax certified with low miles, and still found out there were unreported issues with it.
It's your money, it may become "your car", so be cautious.
