Road Trip
Hitting the road in the '64 tomorrow (7/2) from Southeast CT to Stafford VA, then on to VA Beach on Saturday.
Mostly I-95 on the way down, but skipping north of NYC over the Tappan Zee. Will also pass around east of DC on I-97 out of Baltimore.
The ride back north will be up Rt13 on the eastern shore till I hit I-95 near the Del Mem Bridge.
Hopefully, it will be an uneventful trip.

That should be a nice trip Paul. I recall that route 13 as being a nice way to go down the Delmarva.

If coming north over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, stay on 13 until you get to Pocomoke City MD. take 113 to Ocean City, then Rte 1 tip you hit I95.
Nice ride and not as many stops as on 13.
Enjoy your trip, be safe.

I agree; Rte 1 is a scenic ride, especially along the ocean. Be careful of changing speed limits in the towns north of Ocean City.

Sounds like a great trip in a 64 except for the tropical storm which may become a cat 1 hurricane you are heading towards. It may hit the Va. DelMarva/NC area pretty hard.

First leg of the trip is done. In Stafford VA. Car ran great all the way down with the AC blasting. A little warm (210*) in traffic, but otherwise stayed just over 180*.

Paul,
Gutsy trip in a 64 with a gillion miles. That car has more lives than a cat and more power than the Energizer Bunny! Good luck, be safe, stay cool.

Made it home this afternoon. VA Beach to Groton Ct in 9:15. No problems, no traffic the entire trip. Drove the '64 about 1200 miles total.
Good to be home.
