My car is overheating and most likely needs a new water pump. I can't do it myself so I'm asking what is a reasonable price to expect a garage to charge. Hudson valley, n.y. I'm not looking to beat them down, just don't want to get beat down myself. Thanks in advance.
Thanks, but time and work space prevent that right now.
I had this done many years ago when I had a 93 coupe. The optispark went on the car, so I figured I'd get both done at the same time, since water pump is above the optispark ( what were they thinking ? ). It was about $1400 at Widger Chevrolet in Livingston, NJ.

I have gone thru 2 optis on my 93. The first time I had only the pump replaced (under warranty). The opti was contaminates from the leaking pump (dealer failed to inform me of the sensitivity of the opti) vet no longer under warranty.
The second opti was replaced due to moisture intrusion. I made the mistake of storing vet under a cover outside. Bottom line while the pump is replaced have the opti also replaced. Definately over 1K.
