I was thinking about going to this I'm only about 2 hours north of it, but everyone is saying the reserved parking is gone, what does that mean, you can't drive your vette to the show?

I have never been to this event so i'm not sure how it works.

Buy a FunField pass and you can park with all Corvettes in the Fairgrounds. Get there early for a good spot. There were only a limited number of Reserved spots which are all sold. Reserved spots are a small percentage of Fun Field parking for Corvettes.

You definitely can come and bring your Vette.
There are several options for seeing the show with or without your Vette.

Without your Vette, you would park outside the fairgrounds on any street or private parking area you can find and then walk to the venue, pay a small entrance fee, and then you can walk around and see the show.

With your Vette, you have choices.

You can pay a daily fee and opt for the GENERAL Corvette parking which will get you parking inside the fairgrounds over the hill (not the Fun Field). From there, you would walk down over the hill to the show.

FUN FIELD PARKING. It is around $75 but it is for all four days, gets you a spot on the lower field show area, you get a goody bag and a t shirt. The cost includes you and a guest. You aren't guaranteed any specific spot daily, but if you get there early enough each day, you can pretty much get the same spot you parked in the day before.

RESERVED PARKING is $150 for four days and it guarantees your spot on the Fun Field show area. You are assigned a specific spot for all four days and nobody else is allowed to park there except you. These spots are clearly marked and easy to spot, so you shouldn't have any trouble knowing where not to park.

CHIPS CIRCLE PARKING is $300 (or was last year at least). It is for 30 cars and gets you a lot of special perks, but most of all it's for charity, and includes a very nice dinner on Friday night and passes to be in the parade on Saturday.

If you go to Carlisle Events main page, you'll find all of the info about the show and parking. http://www.carlisleevents.com/carlis...e/default.aspx

So yes, you sure can bring your Vette and enjoy the show for one day or all four. One thing I will advise you to do though is if you are planning on doing the Fun Field , get there EARLY! Those spots go fast on a day to day basis.

I probably left some stuff out, but maybe others can fill in the blanks. Bring your Vette and enjoy the show. Our first time, we parked in the general Vette parking and I can still remember walking to the top of the hill and looking out and seeing that sea of Corvettes. After that, we were hooked and go for three days every year.

Wow, Google maps says 5 hours travel time. Is it worth the effort? Are the roads decent? I drove my Murano to N.J. last weekend for a Nissan event for my son and am happy I didn't drive my Vette. 684 was brutal.

Only if you want to hang out with your best Posse buddies and see 6,000+ corvettes all in one spot.

You have to do it at least once!

We've got 8 Corvettes leaving from Southington Thursday morning. If you want to join us for the ride let me know and I'll send you details. We are planning on taking 84 west to 81 south. (Two others leaving Wednesday and one leaving Friday.)

I would love to join you guys, I may have to reschedule a couple of meetings for work though. What do I miss if I go Friday night and stay through Sunday Morning?

If you haven't been there before it would be difficult to see everything in one day. Saturday is more crowded but you will still see a lot. If you have a Fun Field pass for Saturday get there early!

(We'll be in the Reserved Parking area next to NCRS. Map on CAC website and map will be in "Goodie bag" upon arrival. Send me a PM if you are staying at the Clarion.)

What time are you leaving? I'm still up in the air about what I'm doing.

You guys should get on the road at the crack of dawn Friday or consider leaving Thursday night. You'll be glad you did. Always a great time.

I think it has changed a lot since 1995. It is definitely worth the trip. We drive from Boston and stay for the whole thing. Have been doing that for 19 years...wouldn't miss it!
