An easier way to find out is to call a local Corvette Club. I'm sure you can get info you need.

Have any photos and prices?

I'm taking ownership of a new C7 in a couple of weeks and want to preserve the paint from day 1.

Also, ClearGuard Nano SR? Xpel Ultimate? Suntek? What do you think the best brand is, especially for covering Watkins Glen Grey?

Robert, I've went through that same question recently my friend. I haven't heard of the ClearGuard though. What I have learned is the top of the line Xpel, Suntek, and Llumar are all good quality brands. The SunTek, and Llumar are made by the same company, and are said to be a bit (not noticeable many say) clearer than the Xpel. The SunTec, and the Llumar have a hydroponic coating to shed water, and the Xpel doesn't. In my area the price for all were within 65 bucks of each other. With all that it was still a hard decision for me. So, I going by reviews of the installers, and my gut feeling when I get down to real discussions with them next week.

Jim

There is a lot of good info on the web site. This company is in Charlotte, NC near me.

Rather than choosing between the different brands of PPF, I simply chose the best installer around and conveyed to him/them what I wanted, asked for their input as well (considering all things like longevity and warranty), and in the final analysis ended up with Xpel Ultimate.

I'm sure whichever brand you chose you will be happy with it. The most important thing (I think) is the fact that you are protecting your car's finish from day 1. That's what I did and I'm soooooooooo glad I did it that way.

You won't be able to count the times that you were glad you applied PPF from day 1.

Based on reviews, it seems like this DetailersDomain in NJ is quite good and is about 40 minutes from my house. Now, if only they'd pick up my phone calls!

Full-car PPF on a C7 will run 2-3k?

I paid twice that for the whole car. Sounds like either I got screwed or you're getting a really good deal.

If you are looking to get PPF done in Charlotte, I'd highly recommend checking with Sunstoppers:

https://sunstoppers.com/

Gordon at their Monroe Road location has been doing the PPF on all my vehicles for years and his work is top notch! That is actually my old 370Z in the PPF YouTube video on their website. Good folks to deal with all around for PPF and window tint. Its rare for me to trust anyone with my vehicles, but I know when I leave a vehicle with them that it is in excellent hands!

I'll give them a look too. They're about 2 hours south of me. Detailers Domain is about 40 minutes.

Anyone know of folk in Westchester, NY area that do it well too?

I love the idea behind the clear wrap for stone protection but I'm scared after my local "experts" ruined my GMC. They'll tell you they will use a CAD program to cut the plastic to correct fit but the truth is they'll lay it on the body and use a blade to cut it to fit. When my brand new truck was done they pushed the blade down too hard and sliced the paint all around the truck. They ended up paying me $5000 for the damage! Here's a good video and even they cut the film on the body !

Thanks DWS, we have a Sunstoppers in Concord approx. 5 miles from my house. I got a quote from them recently. I thought is was a bit high at $800 for the best SunTek, but after checking around it's right alone with quotes I got for Xpel and the Llumar.

Also, the Sunstoppers here have great customer reviews, so that's a plus. I'm actually checking for the wife's new Mustang GT Vert. (I know, I know can't get her in a Vette ) , and as soon as it arrives I'm going to take it by for a little more discussion on the process.

100% Donny from advanced is the best tint - ppf - vinyl installer I've ever seen. I've had probably 15 vehicles tinted in my life NOBODY comes close and the ppf is top notch.

He also installed my Jake hood stinger. Amazing. Flawless work. You get what you pay for. He is a true professional. The way I feel about Mike Furman selling Corvettes is how i feel about Donny. Nobody better.

See video for close ups on even how meticulous he is for tint. Sands the edges. Incredible
