The Royals’ Garage Sunday Car is in its nineth year and has become a staple of Lime Rock Park’s Memorial Day weekend festivities. A hometown show run by the Royals family and Lime Rock Park, all types of cars and car enthusiasts are welcome. Each year, the show features muscle cars, import/tuners, street rods, motorcycles, classic cars, antiques, race cars, trucks, “new & cool” and even some homemade wheeled contraptions (ever seen a motorized 55-gallon drum on wheels?!)

The show takes place on the Sam Posey Straight as the final day of the Pirelli World Challenge race weekend, and those who have a weekend ticket are admitted at no additional charge into the show. For all others, the entry fee is $5 for adults in advance or $10 at the gate, $10 per car for those entering their vehicle in the show, and current or former members of the U.S. Armed Forces (with any proof of service) as well as children 16 and under are admitted free of charge.

The show awards trophies in the following categories: Royals Crown – to the Royals family’s favorite entry, Veterans Vote – all Military are encouraged to vote on their favorite entry, People’s Pick – all spectators are encouraged to vote on their favorite entry, and Skip’s Selection – chosen by Lime Rock Park President and chief car enthusiast, Skip Barber. Show entry for vehicles occurs from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m., with spectators encouraged to arrive at 11 a.m. The Awards Ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. To enter a car in the Royals’ Garage Sunday Car Show, no pre-registration is required – simply arrive on the day of the event!

Yea, since I left the vette at home I had to bring something yellow
