I'm new to the forum, I have a new 2019 Grand Sport, Artic White, w Heritage package, looking to have the front bumper and mirrors, wrapped using a 'SunTek ' product applied by a company in CT called CT Wrap -- wanted to know if any CT members have used this co to apply a paint protection film and what the feedback is. Thx, appreciate any help,
Al
Hi, I'm a member of Candlewood Valley Corvette Club based in Danbury. A number of our members with newer cars have had the work done by Henry Daza, 914-843-3503. Tell him you got the number from members of our club.
Thx for the response. Do you know if the members that had the wrap done were satisfied with the work. Does Henry work for himself or does he work for a company that does the wrap or paint protection? Appreciate your help,
Al
Thx for the reply, did you have to drop the car off overnight or could you stay w the car while it was being wrapped? I'm only thinking about wrapping the front bumper and the side mirrors. What product did they use ? What year and model of Vette do you have ?
thx
Al
For a partial wrap you want them to keep the car at least one day. The water from the wrap will not dry in one day. So they will need to do some additional drying and squeegeeing the following day(s). Some may let you take it at the end of the day, but to me, there are issues with water bubbles..
For a full car wrap (every panel) I had that done on a non-Corvette. It took them one week. The drying process was two days.
Sorry, didn't see that you already stated Xpel and that you had the whole car wrapped. How long did it take them to do the whole car?
thx

I’ve had 5 different cars wrapped over the years, sometimes different businesses. First, you don’t want to have dealer do it, as it’s is often in the dealers shop and it’s too dusty and they rush the job. Needs to be done in the PPF shop. Plus if they make a mistake cutting the film size, they may not have extra film and cannot do a redo.
I’ve used Xpel, 3M Pro and Suntek over the years. I’ve only had an issue with 3M and that may been the installer, plus they didn’t honor my warranty as I needed to use same installer. For all the films, it’s a matter of degrees difference. Everyone has a preference - like when to chance motor oil, or radar detectors. It’s all about the shop, who does the installation, the prep and how the owner takes care for the film.
I personally would not wait for the film to be done. Keep it there at least overnight and inspect carefully after completion.
To cause more confusion perhaps, I also had my windscreen covered with Clearplex and another car with a manufacture Bray.
Thx for all the suggestions and help. I had portions of my Grand Sport wrapped with Xpel, by Automoblia Spa in West Haven. Alex and his team were great, especially Ivan who did the wrap. Would definetly recommend .
thx
