Have a C5 with the "dreaded Column Lock" and a rat's nest of electronics.
Probably looking at a factory recall claim.

Don't have a dealer recommendation, but I do have a suggestion for something you should probably do before submitting to any expensive repairs: confirm that your battery is providing the correct power specifications. The C5 is pretty fussy about things like reserve capacity. Take a read through this thread discussing how the car's battery relates to the column lock issue.
