Well, I was driving to get parts for my triple flush I'll be doing soon, and on my way home and rock cracked the windshield. I'm looking for advice on what to make sure of (like ask for 'em HUD replacement). What other advice can you give me? I'm so pissed cause now I worry about a shitty job and possible leaking, looking bad, etc. Has anyone had to replace theirs in central NJ or just know of a great place to take it to? I'd rather not trust the satellite mobile guys if I don't have to... Thanks
PS Does anyone think it could actually be filled in, instead of replaced?
I am going to move you here to your regional. I would personally spend the money for an OEM one, but maybe someone here in your regional can chime in..
I have had Safelite replace several windshields on my GS with no issues at all. If you are paying out of pocket you can save a good amount of cash by going with non HUD glass, most people say they cannot notice the difference.

thanks for the reply Pat! I’m going through insurance, and waiting to hear if they authorize oem or aftermarket, but I think it will be HUD glass either way. Just depends on oem hud or Safelites version. At first I had told ins I was also going to get a quote from my dealer to replace, but the more I think about it, it’s prob better off letting glass people do it instead of a gm tech that has prob never done it before. Hearing you have gotten it done several times eases my mind slightly. Thank you!
just got a call that Allstate approved OEM replacement. So, at least I have that good news. Have an appointment with safelite next Friday. Fingers crossed

Safelite did a great job each time, I think I am up to number four. One did not even last a whole week before a rock cracked it on the NYS thruway. I do remove the inside mirror and all of the trim before they come out, it gives me one less thing to worry about and makes their job easier. Good luck, keep us posted on how you make out. Just out of curiosity, what part of NJ are you in ?
