Whats happening Jim. Congrats on your two wins yesterday at Thomas. After talking to you you had me convinced on picking up a bra for the Z. I ordered the Z06 version from Fitchner today but after searching the web had a few questions. I noticed that a few people were not happy with the Z version saying it did not fit good around the grills/air intake and that there were tabs that slid in around same that were hokey. I was wondering which you had the Z or standard C5 version and if you have them tabs that stick in around the opening/parking lights. I also wanted to know were you picked up the better snaps with the sheet metal screws for the w wells. Thanks. I was good seeing you guys again. If you want you can just email me @ frank.agent@towers.com
Nada, zip, nothing. I was a little concerned about the frame off 74 next to me but he got nothing too. I didn't notice anything else in my class that stood out as being worthy but didn't really look either and couldn't even say who I was competing against but think I would have noticed if there was something nicer. My guess is they had alot more friends voting. There goes my undefeated streak. I guess my basement is getting a little clutered anyway. Still had a great time hanging with great people. Not going to get into who got some of the specialty awards, some were well deserved (Jim) and others
Frank, That is a good question as I haven't seen the GM Z06 Bra installed but I do know it had the "live air" passages. As usual, the bra for the red car is to some degree "custom" as I wanted "live air" and Janet cut out the factory plastic and replaced it by sewing in heavy duty screen from Home Depot. She did a great job and it has held up for 3 years. If I had it to do all over again I would purchase a new C5 bra and take it to an upholstery shop and have them remove the plastic and replace with screens. As for the SS snaps, any decent upholstery shop should have them. i still say that the Factory Bra is kind to the paint and only requires a minute to install. As a side note I can't believe you didn't win your class and I thought you would win Best Paint!!
