[QUOTE]If so, would people be interested in a New England Dragway rental? I wonder how many cars are needed.
-Mike, Yes they do, on wendsday afternoon 1-5, I belive it's 100. a car. Can't remember the maximum number of cars, might be 25, but I don't think there is a minimum anymore, if your intrested in setting this up call Joe Lombardo at New Englad for details. Ric
More and more the NED rentals are sounding like a better deal to me. The last rental in April I went to at LVD there wasn't any track prep done. Talking to people who were there a couple of weeks ago, there wasn't any done for that day either. The people running the lanes had a no care attitude. Street tire people driving through the water. Nobody taking the time to explain to them the proper way. No water in the burnout box later in the day. Real bad marbles. Watching fast car launch was scary.
The word I've heard is at NED there's a limit to 20 cars. Street tire cars run one lane, slicks the other. There's a real prep done for the slick lane. The one real downer is that theres only one car running at a time. No grudge racing with your buddies.
I'd even be willing to ante up more $ if they would prep both lanes and let us run against each other. I don't see why we couldn't have a driver's meeting before hand instructing people how to go AROUND the waterbox if you are on street tires. The LVD rental are what 68 bucks? You spend a good $25 in gas just for the 5-6 hours in driving. So the cost is almost the same once you're done.

You are correct Scorp but my squeeze lives two miles away. Still I'd like to run you at NED BEFORE you road test my new ride. Not that I don't trust you.. :D -->;)
Track rental day is Weds. The limit is 25 cars I believe. It is an excellently run day. Very smooth going. I usually get around 16-17 runs. That's with some rest and cool down time. If you think about it, on a regular day you pay $25 and most times you can only get 3-4 runs. So, the $100 is worth it in my opinion. I agree that it would be better if they had both lanes running so you could have some "grudge" matches going on...but oh well. It is cool however that your friends can go right up to the line with you!!
I know that NED used to have a PRIVATE track rental day. It was like $1,000. I am not sure what the rules were or if they even still do it. But, you could inquire about it.
What day is Lebanon Valley's rental day? It's only $68?? What hours? For me NED is like 2 hours away, and Lebanon is about 2 1/2. So, not much difference.

Usually on Fridays and runs from 9:00AM to 4:00 PM.
I remember one of the lanes was worse than the other. Maybe you were in the wrong lane? I was hooking up great with my BFGs and running some great times. Record times actually. 1.7x 60 foots, 12.0 1/4. I believe we were the first ones to use the track this season so there wasn't any rubber on the track from the big boys that run on Sundays. I'd give them another chance. They even seem to be prepping the track better on Wed nights than they did last year.
