Sorry convertables must have a functional rollbar/cage. If you can access a hardtop that should pass.
I would love to do a few high speed runs at the pocono super speedway. I even called them up last year to see if they rent out the track for an hour or two to individuals but they said no. I'd love to go but I've never done anything like that. Besides the car inspection, is it hard to qualify to run on the track?

There are differant groups you can be put in. There is a novice group. This is not a race, it is a high performance driving school to learn how to operate your car at high speeds. For novice drivers we have a limited amount of instructors that can run a few laps with you. Once they feel you are safe you can go alone. You can also ride with someone (higher than a novice) to learn the track. It is a no pressure atmosphere. You drive at your own pace, and just signal others to pass you. You can only pass with a point from the driver ahead of you in certain sections of the track. (mainly straight-aways)
If you come out I guarantee you will have a awsome time!!
As for the hardtop on a Vert, we are having a meeting tonight and I will bring that up.
As for the cruise-in Chris is coming home Sunday, then going to Pocono on Monday. So you have no excuse Frank :D :D
TT... for what sounds like a great oppurtunity for us in Northeast to experience what our cars are all about in a closed, safe environment and legal to boot :D . I haven't been but I can guarantee I'll have a blast.
If you've never done this before, are you allowed? I noticed the other post mentioned "experienced only". I would love to do this, and Pocono is a great track. Let me know, thanks.
We do take some unexperianced drivers. We have a small number of instructors that can ride with you for some laps till you learn the lines and such. You would run in the beginer class.
