I need a relatively good head count for Brookside. Please respond to this thread if you are planning on attending, and let me know how many will be with you. I know that the weather is still a bit iffy, but I really need to get an idea of how many people we can expect. I hope that the weather holds out as Andy Bolig is coming, and Brookside is going all out to provide us with additional eating choices and places to sit outside. (Not to mention the porta-potties...)
Brookside is a little "downhome" restaurant that we go to for lunch. They also have a gift shop and gas. The dining room only seats around 100 people so there is usually a line waiting to eat. This year, they are setting up a BBQ outside, as well as having the buffet available inside, in order to feed us quicker. We park on the median strip of the highway which makes it looks like we are having a Vette show...
I don't want to jinx anything, but I just noticed that the forecast changed to partly cloudy with a 20% chance of rain... Additionally, Brookside has told me that their local forecast is calling for any showers to be in the late afternoon, evening.
So, all you people that forgot to add the WW2 RPO to your car (2 speed windshield wipers) should be able to make this cruise and stay dry!
This year we are doing a 50/50 “With a Twist” raffle. The Young Marines are going to be assisting with parking, and will award a trophy to a car of their choice. Half of the 50/50 proceeds will benefit their group. (See attached info sheet to learn more about their organization.) We also wanted to do something to benefit the American Cancer Society. We decided to donate the other half of the 50/50 proceeds to the American Cancer Society. So, in lieu of cash, the winner of the 50/50 “With a Twist” raffle will get a nice Cutter and Buck Corvette sweatshirt, donated by West Coast Corvettes, and a hat from the Corvette Assembly Plant.
