Default NJ State inspection?

Six years ago my 95 C4 coupe failed the NJ state inspection. It failed the test where the machines shake/vibrate the front end suspension. I knew there wasn't anything wrong with the car and took it to a local shop and it passed with flying colors. Sionce then I have bypassed the free inspection and gone back to the mechanic and everything is fine.

Have other Jersey C4s experienced the same trouble with that test?

Never took it there for that reason and I don't want them getting in my car and do the break stomping test either . Screw them . I take it to my guys at the dealer they love the car and they pass it every time even though I don't have mufflers ...

My 89 passes no problem. But I have a feeling it's a hit or miss thing w/ anything regarding New Jersey and the DMV.

I thought I was in for a whole day adventure at the MVC to title and register, it took a total of 20 minutes.

Thank goodness I don't live in NJ anymore. Now I don't even have to worry about passing emissions!

I went last week in the middle of the day, just 1 other car there.
when I pulled up, all of the inspection employees HAD to checkout the "pace car vette" that just pulled in.

As they are starting the inspection, one guy says "you know, we have a rule here......... If you pass, you have to do a burnout"
I said "Ummmmm....... OK" (now, I figured that I would fail for tires because my front tires are pretty much bald on the inside tread and the rears are down to the wear indicators! I am planning on getting new tires next year :o .)

so they start the "inspection" and the only things that they actually checked were the Headlights, horn, e-brake, and brakes! NO emissions test!, NO "tire shaker" test!, they didn't even look the car over very well! usually they are checking underneath the car with mirrors.
last time I went there they tested everything!

At the end the girl comes out holding up the new sticker and says... "look, it's purple and matches your car!" and she then said "that guy over there says, you know the rule?"

I said "ok" as long as there aren't any cops around, they said "the cops never come back here" so they all lined up at the rear of the inspection station, I pulled up and away from the rear exit and proceded to do a nice smokey burnout with my practically bald rear goodyear runcraps!

it was the best inspection "experience" that I have ever had!

I went early, one of the 1st that day. I struck up a conversation with the 'inspector' who liked the Vette. I passed without a problem.
