My results from Infineon 1/4 tonight plus a C6 Z06
I only made 2 runs and found out right away with the windows up and helmet on I cant hear the dang engine at all to get a clean launch. I launched at 2500 and was spinning the tires through 1st gear and a healthy chirp hitting 2nd and 3rd.
Definatly going to get SLP loudmouth or B&B bullet exhaust so I can hear the rpm's next time and get a better launch. I have rear Nittos and I did not do a pre-burnout. A 2.3 60 foot time is pathetic if I say so myself.
This car has run 12.4's with same tires with no burnout (NO HELMET), so the launch was just disgraceful on my part.
run 1:
60' 2.306
330' 5.828
1/8 8.693 88.83 mph
1000' 11.089
1/4 13.115 111.55
run 2:
60' 2.351
330' 5.900
1/8 8.713 88.33 mph
1000' 11.080
1/4 13.079 112.74
The C6 Z06 ran a 13.0 at 112.0. Alot of negative comments being made about his slow run.

Brian, just got my B&B Bullets installed today over at Synergy. If you're going to be around at the exotic car show over in Danville this Saturday your more than welcome to listen to them.
I saw the C5 they were getting ready for the magazine shoot on the dyno, that was friggin LOUD.. sounded like a jet.

Your ET's are actually good considering the 60 foot was so bad
Regarding the C6 Z06, I saw one run 11.99 BONE STOCK on stock tires at Infineon. I didn't get the MPH though.

I got beat by that Z06...got the same times as you.
The exhuast is not going to do anything ...learn how to drive the car.
I thought you had a Raptor shift light?

Yup I have a raptor shift light and the shifts were right on at 6400. We have 2 other race cars (one 10 second car and one 11 second with skinnier tires than the Vette) and if I plugged my ears so I couldnt hear the exhaust id have lousy 60 footers in them also. Ive been racing for over 30 years so its just getting this vette out of the hole is the learning step as its hard to hook it up unless you can hear the tires breaking loose and adjust the launch next time.
I should have made 1 more run and stretched 3rd out to see if i could go through the traps without bouncing off the rev limiter (probably wouldnt make it).

Yea it was slow, but the track was not good for launching anyone tonight. It weas an old guy driving it and maybe he just didnt know how to take it to redline and shift. ill have to watch the video of it and listen how he shifted, but he came out of the hole really slow. and I think I heard he did a 60 footer of 2.8.

After watching the video in stayed in 1st pretty far. It wasnt massivly spinng the tires I just cane out slow because I was afraid of wheel hopping like I do on the street if I nail it hard off the line. On the second run I could hear them barely.
I wish I still had my connections there when I cold go run on an off day all by myself. One time i ran like 30 back to back runs as fast as I could come back on there turn road before someone else showed up.
I think I might go next Wednesday night also.

I don't have any trouble hearing and feeling what the motor and rears are doing. The feedback comes from
• the ears
• hand on the shifter
• hand on the wheel
• left foot on the clutch
• right foot on the accelerator
• seat of the pants.
So it's more than ears. And mine aren't too good after a Ranger's life around loud noises.
You can practice refining those senses by doing drills on the street. Accelerate strongly in 1st and 2d without breaking the tires loose. Do that a couple dozen times, learning to squeeze the throttle rather that pressing it to the floor in one motion.
Other tips for fast times are in the link at the end of my sig.

Ive since made a couple 12.4-12.5 runs with 1.70's 60 footers (I didnt wear a helmet on these runs). Im so tall that with a damn helmet on I have to squish myself way down into the seat and its very akward to drive that way and makes for terrible times. Take the helmet off and wala, all is solved.

Gotta say it, though, I've seen five C5s hit the wall at the drags. Wearing a helmet is a smart precaution.
Good luck with your car.
