wtf? for some reason he wouldnt tint my side windows he was trying to sell me a clear film
Honestly I don't know why he let me do it. When I brought the car in and we talked about it...I said what I wanted and he said...we can't do that...the darkest you can do is X.
I left the car to go and have some breakfast and he called my cell phone and said...Just letting you know that we're gonna go ahead and do it.
I didn't complain.
I told him that I had been sent there by another forum member and told him I had recommended some of my other friends to him....not sure if that made a difference...
My wife got tagged by the CHP last month for the tint on her Escalade (we bought it used and I never realized it had aftermarket tint on the windows!). Apparently, Cali law says no external - not part of the glass itself - tint on front side windows. If you have a medical condition that requires more shade, you can get a letter from the doc allowing a tint device which can be removed for safer night time driving.
I found the key to removing the tint is heat. Once I fired up the heat gun it came off pretty easily. It was a shame though, removing the nicely installed tint. Truck looks kind of stupid now with tint on rear windows and not on the fronts.
I do expect PRC revenue to go up via traffic fines though as the state digs a deeper financial hole for itself.
My neighbor use to have a tinting business and he was always doing all the windows in alot of the cars he worked on.One day I asked how the car owners got away with the full tint he told me most of the cars he did were the personal cars from law inforcement types. They happen to get pulled over, flash there badge and a little profesonal courtesy among cops.
