Here's a shot of me collecting my 1st black flag.
We had a good weekend, finishing 46th overall. The pic is a result of me trying to pass on the outside of the Onramp turn on Sunday. Probably not my best move. Our car is still a dog on the straights despite a lot of between race work. It actually ran great during Friday practice, but the problem came back Saturday and we dropped to 91st. Consistency and luck brought us up to 46 at the flag on Sunday. In the pic you can also see the body damage from when the 11 car hit Gordon. We had to kick the dent out to get the door to work, the 11 car spent quite a while in the pits getting fixed, Crown Vics do have a few advantages
Nice to see some other Norcal Vette owners made the trip south.
We have a lot of in video, I'll post some when we get it on U-tube.

We had a great time and ended up 54th despite multiple tows, damage to the car and a tie rod that got bent. We had an ignition switch that failed so we had to push start the car in the pits so when it spun on track, we could not get it started again and had to be towed a couple times. On Sunday one of our drivers got collected over Lost Hills and it resulted in a severly bent tie rod, crushed in fender and a rubbing tire with about 20* of tow out. We had to take the thing apart, heat up the tie rod and bend it straight to try and eyeball the alignment. Bill did a great job at guessing and it turned out pretty good. A little hammering on the fender and taking a Sawzall to the rear bumper we were back in action.
The rest of the day went good, but we also received a couple black flags that nobody could explain. The LeMons crew did not even know why we were flagged, but we had to get their truck "unstuck" from the mud as a penalty.
This is truely some of the most fun you can have in a car and we had a blast. Between rain, 170 other cars and running the track backwards on sunday it was a great time. Can't wait for Infineon in March.
Hey Paul, it was good seeing you down there. We lucked out with the weather, although Rich and I each had a session in the wet. Here's a short vid of the start of the race and your car makes a short appearance.

Nice seeing our car at "speed". Are you and Rich going to Infineon? We've got some work to do, but should be there. Our car developed a loud clunk in the rear and we found the rear sway bar was sliding back and forth and hitting the shocks. We also found the driver's side wheel base is an inch shorter than the passengerside
We were there as well in the number 21 Porsche 924S with a PacMan hanging on for dear life. Lots of fun with minimal damage etc. this time around. Had to put the shift linkage back together twice and lost a few laps in the process but still managed a 16th overall place finish. Without the meachicals, we could have been in the top 10 this time.

I think we are planning on going to Infineon, but I will have to miss the Aug T-Hill date because of Auto-X at Marina.

Here's a vid of the start of my 1st run Saturday. Its a little long, so you can skip ahead if you want. It will give you an idea of the track and traffic and the variety of speeds.
When you see everybody going slow in a line, that's a yellow flag, lots of those. Lots of dust kicked up too.

Paul,
I don't think the Dent Wizard is going to be able to help you!

Wow, that's pretty good. We have 7 drivers and do a lot of driver exchanges so we lose tons of time in the pits. Plus we had some mysterious black flags thrown at us that nobody could explain and some mechanical damage. But that's part of the fun! I made a highlight reel of my Saturday session in the afternoon. That had to be the most fun I've ever had racing.

After watching all of the videos it looks like a lot of fun My brother just sent me the info for the "Chump Car" at Infineon and that really looks like a fun event.
We had 6 drivers and split the time into 6 sessions over both days, 3 drivers Saturday and the other 3 Sunday. Spend less time in the pits that way and still get tons of driving time, in fact, I did a 2:45 stint Saturday afternoon, very tired at the end, but lots of fun.

That is a long stint. I did one Escort race years ago at Infineon (dating myself) and did a 1:45 stint which seemed like a long time on the track. Sounds like everyone is having fun at these events.
We had 5 drivers and did one session each each day. We wanted to be sure as we could that everyone got to drive. It was pretty cool, so driving longer wouldn't be too hard.
Here's more pics, including my off from a different angle. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...6739494&ref=mf
