Road Trip: Vette or Jeep?
Folks, I have a 1 week road trip coming up. I am debating to take the Corvette or the Jeep.
Sunnyvale > Las Vegas > Grand Canyon > Sedona > Las Vegas > Sunnyvale
Which car would you take?

The Jeep has much much better A/C. Right now I took the top off for summer. Still one of the best heater and A/Cs I have ever had in a car. Even with no top. A/C was an $895 option on this Jeep. LOL.
Vette would be nice. I had a fantastic trip to Tahoe with it. I already scanned the hotel parking lots and they will be fine for the Vette.
But what if some off-roading come up?

If you want to drive back roads... take the Vette.
If you want to go offroading or visit sites that require driving off the pavement... take the Jeep.
If you're going to sit on the freeway... take the most comfortable one.
Personally, I'd take the Vette. So many great roads in the South West to drive on. I can suggest roads that would fill every day of that week... (note: I've not driven the roads south of Sedona, but they were on a drive I planned a few years ago and cut-out due to a lack of time).

Yes, I want to drive back roads, AND I might need to do some off-roading. I am attaching the complete route. Some part of the "highways" after St George has cow catcher.
Both cars are not really comfy. Vette has Z51 suspension with no magnetic ride. And run flats. Jeep has BFG KO 6 ply tires.

Oh you're so close to Zion National Park on that route... would be a shame to miss it! That also puts you fairly close to Bryce Canyon... definitely someplace to go at least once. I linked a couple pages from my blog that covered those days, but I have a whole bunch of info/photos from my 2011 and 2012 roadtrips for ideas.
Personally, unless you have a specific reason to stop in Santa Barbara or Morro Bay, I'd suggest putting those extra miles (versus just taking I5/I15) into going towards Zion/Bryce. Heck, you're not far from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon either.
Near Vegas... Red Rock Canyon is a must!

I've seen todds blogs of his trips. Well worth taking a very hard look at. This kid knows his adventures.
Side note. Todd I could use a cool trip to Washington. I'm open to ideas. PM me some info. Lol.

Depending on time... there are lots of fun roads up that way, several before you even get out of California.
If you've not done it already, CA Highway 36 is well worth the drive. To put it into perspective, I'll just leave this here for you to study:
********** CAUTION **********
Check the status of Highway 36 before starting any drive that includes this route... major construction in the summer of 2017 (only letting traffic through for an hour a day):
*****************************
In 2012 my trip took me up through Oregon and Washington (Day 6, Day 7, Day 8, Day 9, Day 10).
One of my favorites was the Columbia River Gorge and The Rowena Loops
Now I just need to find some time to go on a road trip in the Vette to get some updated photos!

Folks thank you for your replies. Corvette it is then. I have done 108 to Mono lake before but that for me would be a Jeep trip next time.
I have made some changes to the plan. I dropped Santa Barbara, Solvang, Pismo Beach , and Morro Bay. I added Zion and Bryce Canyon national parks. So this trip will be all new to me doing 4 of nicest national parks. 7 days and 6 nights are filled so boring commute to Las Vegas and back have to be shortest. BTW I have done Red Rock before. Thank you again.

What a Trip
Well folks, the trip is over. Due to the last minute order from above, I took the Jeep. Not completely planned, but covered the following route. This is a beautiful country we have
There was a 200 mile stretch of highway with headwind. That's where I missed the Vette. Otherwise I feel good about taking the Jeep. I used a ton of 4WD.
Thank you so much for the pointers
