Any gun shops close to Fremont?

That's definitely probably your closest although I've heard you have to do more paperwork there than usual. Supposedly something about their high volume and late hours, they have their own internal process on top of the standard California requirements. Dom's in Livermore doesn't have a huge selection, although they should be able to order whatever, are super friendly and never had a bad experience with them.

Never been inside, but seen this place near 580/680 in Dublin and internet reviews are promising.
I went into Cabela's on the way back from Hot August Night this year. Looks weird when you see people with shopping carts filled with 2-3 cases of ammo. Pretty cool collection of firearms.

Jeff, whatcha looking for? I've moved me and my business to Reno and it's really nice to just go buy (pretty much) anything you want and walk out the door with it. Bought an AUG last month - love it!

While I've bought guns from Solar Tactical, Targetmasters, Brentwood Armory and J&R in Livermore, I'd have to say J&R is the easiest to deal with, have the best prices. Solar Tactical, GF&OS, Dom's are all MSRP dealers where as J&R is street market. I shopped around when I bought my Signature P226 and J&R was up to $300 cheaper than the other guys.
