Personalized License Plate question

Personalized License Plate question
Hello,
I am on the edge whether to apply for Personalized License Plate.
The reason for dilemma is that the License Plate I am applying for starts with 'Q'.
And I have seen some License Plates containing Q, where Q looks very off from other letters. The circular part is much smaller than other letters (especially compared to 'O')
Should i still go for it or not ?
What would you do if you were in my place?
Thanks.

Wow, now you have a Corvette OCD (joke).
I would not even consider a custom plate with a Q in your case and if you get a random plate sequence with a Q return until satisfied.
Good luck with your plate desires.

I thought the q wasn’t used because it’s hard to distinguish between the Q & O and 0. For authorities.
So it’s only used in a weird font for like fleet lease cars or something like that.

I was out walking the dog this evening and noticed a license plate with a Q and one with a O. The DMV must have done this so people don't confuse the two letters. If you like your personalized plate idea, I wouldn't let the squiggle on the Q stop me.

"I" "O" "Q" are not used for the first character in the general sequence issued plates. In some movies that used California plates, you may see "I" or "Q" as the first characters but, those are fake plates for display only.

On the DMV website you can see a mockup of what your request will look like (if available.) Have you tried that? Screenshot that and post it here if you want opinions...

I dont think it can be trusted.
DMV site clearly states: License Plate lettering and letter placement may vary on actual plate.

I have to believe that they use the same Q for all their plates. I don't think your picture shows how the Q will look on the actual plate.
