Default Looking for Great Tuner for C5

Good day everyone. I think it's time to get my C5 (98 coupe) retuned. I was never satisfied with the original tune. Even if it is for piece of mind, I want a second look.

I know Rick @ Synergy has turned a lot of cars on the forum and he was going to be my first choice but want to see if there are other great options for tuners near the Sacramento area.

I would stick with Rick.

Email Matt at gpxtuning@gmail.com, I believe he tunes C5's also. Both are very knowledgeable tuners and I had both of them tune my car, but Matt is my tuner of choice.

Thank you. Do you know if Matt is knowledgeable with FI on C5s? I'll reach out to him to see what he says.

Matt came highly recommended to me by a few highly modified guys in the area. He is booked out till Oct. but I have an appt. to have him fix a extremely shitty tune by Rick. He is apparently good but when he drops the ball he has no ownership. Ill take my CEL, code throwing, rich tune somewhere else. I purposely bough HP tuners and pulled my Synergy tune and sent it to a few other tuners. Everyone laughed, and I even got a "I wouldn't drive that car". LOL Awesome work Synergy. I know of someone else recently that went there and had a similar experience. Matt cleaned up the tune and he loves the car.

Thanks for the info Teddy. I have read more than a few articles about similar situations at Synergy which is why I was looking for options. I'll reach out to him and see what he says.

Hi everyone. So I spoke to Matt and it looks like it is a no-go with him. He basically told me he can't tune my car because 97-98 vettes have limited scalability during to their ECU. Of course switching to a newer ECU/MAF woukd cause me not to pass SMOG so that is a no-go for me.

Still looking for other options if there are any that are great. Rick has had a lot of success and you can't win them all so maybe I should just go to him.
