Default WRX Sti value ?

What do you think a 04 STI, that has been poorly modified by an obvious amature who watched the fast and the furious too many times. The front and rear bumpers need replaced (poor ground effects job) the underhood wiring harness has loose wires from a turbo timer install. And the car feels like it was beaten for most of its life.

What is normal max boost press in these cars. I wonder if the guy fiddled with the boost limits. Since this car has a stock turbo and hits harder in the high band than other STIs I have driven

Head over to nasioc.com and look for a better car. Nasioc is a great forum (a bit cerebral at times) but you can find out anything about Subarus there.

I like the '08 STI but the '04 with the radio delete and other interesting features is intriguing too.

A few years ago I bought an '02 WRX that had been beat on it's whole life on Ebay. The engine blew a week later. The car was nothing but trouble the entire time I owned it. I paid $16,250 for it, dropped over $5500 in it, and got $14,000 on trade. Huge lesson learned.

Uhhhh... nothing to me.

I'd keep looking for one that hasn't been beat to hell and might last longer then a couple of months.

If you are gonna buy a car like a STi I would look for one with lower miles that has obviously not been modded and very well kept..... its one of those cars if not cared for well will give you nothing but problems and nickle and dime the $hit out of you.

DO NOT BUY A USED STi. Most all of the STi's you are going to come in contact with are abused. I would not mess with a car like you explained above. Just problems waiting to happen.

Normal boost pressure on an STi should be around 14.5psi. Any STi that i would consider would be one with engine managment. Not a full stand-alone like a honda, but pre fabricated maps that are made by compaines like Cobb Tuning, UTEK, etc. On Subaru's you cant slap on full exhaust, intake and a blow valve and expect it to run like it should. They are very finiky(sp?) with mods, especially if you dont have an ECU map tuned for those specific mods.

Bottom line: I dont think you should even consider this car. The way you describe it sounds like a 16 year old with daddy's cash that buys every rice mod in the world. Just spend you money on the vette

Why do i know so much about subaru's? Because i have one with alot of mods.
