TRAILBLAZER SS/C6 Owners
I just found a photo of a white Trailblazer SS in the photo gallery.
They are extremely rare in Arkansas. I have a black 07 SS, AR vanity plate SUVETTE, and a artic white C6 vanity plate WISTA J.
I drive the SS daily and the C6 when the weather is good, and my wife will let me. You guessed it WISTA J is her name also.
The SS comes with a 395 hp LS2, derated 5 hp due to single exhaust. It is equipped with 20 inch rear tires and a 4.10 rear axle. Final ratio allowing for the larger tires is about the same as the C6 (2.56) in 4th gear. With 1200 pounds more weight than the C6 it is obviously outclassed by the C6. But it is doesn't give up much to the C6, about a second in a quarter according to magazine test reports.
Enough about the SS, this is a C6 forum, I just enjoy the perfrormance I get in the SUVETTE in everyday driving when the C6 is home. Unfortunately the SS gets about 15.7 avg mpg compared to 29 in the Vette. 1200 pounds makes a world of difference in milage.

I too will be a dual owner soon. I have a Summit White 2007 Trailblazer SS, and a 2008 VR coupe on order. The SS is indeed fun to drive. I drove one of the original 2002 Trailblazer's for 6 years, and it had very mushy steering and handling. The SS has a much stiffer suspension, and very tight steering. You can take it hard into a turn without feeling like you are about to roll over every time.
There are so few of these on the road not much is known about them. I can't tell you how many shocked looks you get from people in sporty little cars when an overweight SUV with the aerodynamics of a Railroad car leaves them wondering what happened at a stoplight.
But I digress. They better be working overtime on my car today in BG.

I've been keeping an eye out for a good deal on an 06 TBSS recently, but they are pretty rare. Seems like it'd be the perfect garage mate for our C6 (better than the Wrangler that's in there now).

The TB SS is perfect for the family man with a performance itch to scratch.
And it can tow your boat to the lake on the weekend, unlike the Jeep SRT8.
I'd love one but don't want to pay the gas penalty.

I have a new 2008 TBSS and it really is fun to drive. I agree that no one else on the road expects the performance of this thing when you hit the gas. Also, as it has an LS2 engine, it gets along really well with my 2006 Vette in the garage. No sibling rivalry or anything else.

I will soon be a C5, C6, and TBSS triple LS owner.
I replaced my '03 Silverado with an '07 TBSS. I need to tow my boat to the river and my '99 coupe to the track. My wife and I test drove an '07 Tahoe. SHE said the Tahoe didn't handle and was TOO SLOW.
The only mid-sized SUVs that will tow over 6,000 pounds are the Trailblazer/Saab 9-7X, Ford Explorer V8 , VW Tourareg/Porsche Cayenne/Audi Q7, and BMW X5. She would have loved one of the German "wagens" but the comparably equipped V8s are twice the cost of a discounted TBSS. The Saab 9-7X Aero is a Euro dressed version of the TBSS. The interior is MUCH nicer than the Chevy if you want to spend $10K more for the updated look.
The TBSS is a great tow vehicle! It pulls the hills much better than my Silverado 5.3 did and the sport-tuned suspension makes it very stable for its smaller size. The auto leveling rear air springs are a nice feature as well. The only two down sides are the gas mileage and the ride harshness. The best I get highway is about 17-18 MPG. My average in combined driving is 14-15 MPG, and towing at near maximum weight is 10-11 MPG. As for the ride, GM did a great job of tuning an old truck platform to handle well; the tradeoff is a somewhat stiff and jarring ride compared to some of the newer independent rear suspension platforms.

we had an 06 SS, but replaced it with an 07 tahoe. I do miss the power, but the tahoe actually gets better mileage, tows more and its my wife's car, so it doesn't really affect me. The sad thing is, the Tahoe had a higher sticker price than my C6!

2020 C6 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
Had a 06 TBSS loved it. Being that 08 is the last year for the trailblazer
(rumor has it) and with the price of fuel, I decided to trade it before the resale value tanked. I miss it sometimes but then I'll just jump in the vette.

Got an '06 TBSS, '06 GTO, (really my sons) and an '07 Arctic White C6. I have 50,000 miles on the Trailblazer SS and I'm thinking about replacing it with another one. It's been a great everyday driver. I really want a Tahoe but i don't think it'll fit in many NYC parking garages.

I've kept the TBSS on my list of possible tow/utility vehicles if I end up getting a second car, but the gas mileage of this thing just terrifies me...
I may wait until the new GM 4.8L turbo diesel comes out for the Sierra pickup, instead. It's gotta get much better MPG then an SS, especially towing...

If you're averaging 29mpg in the Vette you must be doing 95% highway driving with no traffic, I'm averaging about 11mpg in my 06 coupe, but then again most of my driving is on the terrible Boston streets in rush hour traffic

Love the LS2 in my C6, so I went back and bought a Silver 07 TBSS. I absolutely love this SUV. Like someone else said, folks are surprised by the performance. A simple tune wakes these up beyond belief.

Nice pics guys. I'm on the hunt for a black TBSS to join my C6 coupe. Wife is going to drive the SS as her daily driver. Aren't many for sale around here with the options I want (Tulsa, OK).
