oh my gawd.
if peterk has to be an asian car freak, i wish he could at least pick halfway decent ones to pimp. that's one of the ugliest front ends on the market.
Wash the acid from your eyes with a better looking car from the same manufacturer.

that headlight treatment is really painful.
most people will connect with the image of a face when they look at the front end of a car, with the headlights as the eyes.
that winehouse image on the first page of the thread is pretty appropriate.
the cars got a big bulk to it and it uses a lot of rectangles and square shapes in the design, but then those 'V' shaped headlights are slapped on there and it's like looking at a cross-dresser. A muscular dude wearing mascara.
Since it's the only 'V' shape on the car, it draws more attention than it has to. The designer could've gotten away with it if he'd echoed that design element elsewhere, in the design of the foglamp/brake vent area for example.
As it is, it's a questionable element made more questionable by the fact that it's uniqueness forces the eye to focus on it.
The design of the rear doesn't jive with the design of the front very well. It's mismatched. The rear looks like a mash-up of a couple different rears from other manufacturers, in addition to being a pretty fair continuation of past generations of maxima. It's better, but not very exciting.
There are some scallops at the bottom of the doors along the sides which do a nice job of breaking up an otherwise boring profile, but the designer seemed to get lost behind the rear wheels as there's no grace in the way the scallops integrates with the rear fascia. They look awkward tilted up as they are and there's no grace or feeling of continuity with the other established design elements.
Overall, it's a failure.

WOW - that is barnone the ugliest POS I've seen in a long time. Front end looks like a truck and the rear end looks like J-Lo with hemorrhoids.

That is already cornered by you. You get sand in your vagina any time someone says something not enthusiastically positive about a Japanese car. You got all bent out of shape just because I have a problem with the headlights in that photo.
