New Camaro

Well, now that I think about I would rather pickup a 06 Z06 for around the same price as a new Camaro. Heck with the with the way these forum members price an 03 vette in two years I could get an 06 for like 15k.
Missed the mark????? How so? I love the look of it. I guess the transformer movie got me hooked.

It just doesn't grab me the same way some of the other "retro" rods do. I don't think Chevy really captured the Camaro...but of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder
I'd never buy something where the basic body structure weighs more than my whole car...

The economic downturn is rather unfortunate because, for the first time in countless years, I'm actually excited about some of the General's offerings.
The C6 is the first Corvette that I've been excited about since the C2 -- For my own personal usage and tastes, the C6Z is great for a leisurely cruise or night out on the town, but likely not something I'd want as a daily driver.
The Camaro looks like a modernized, clean version of it's predecessor, and provided the production model looks exactly like the concepts (particularly the interior), I wouldn't mind getting one as a daily driver.
The Volt also intrigues the TechnoGeek in me, would be a great vehicle for my other half, and would be something I wouldn't mind driving on occasion to run errands.
The mark is pretty dead-on for my tastes.

I've owned three F-bodys...a 650ish rwhp 2000 Z28 and two near-stock Formulas. The 5thGen does very little for me and there's no way I'd dump my Z06 for one unless they change majorly over the production run. I'm not a big "retro" fan either...

First off, I LOVE the new camaro. But it is not in the same performance league as the C5 Z06. It will weigh about 3700-3800lbs. And I like having only 2 seats. I would love to have one as a second car.

Nope. I saw one at the Orlando PRI show.
The 1967 and the 1969 Z/28 cars were the only two that I liked. But I've always been a Corvette guy.
Why buy a Camaro with a Corvette engine when you can buy a Corvette with a Corvette engine?

I would take one over a Mustang, I think that they did a nice job with it. It will be good to see them whippin some *** at the Koni Challenge. the Z is not going anywhere though

The car is too big to be a camaro, they went all out to make it fit 4 to 5 people fit comfortably if it was the same size as an older camaro I would have considered it, in fact I did untill I saw the car close up.

I'd pick up one in ADDITION to my Vette. But never sell a Vette for a Camaro.
I do like the new Camaro though. Hopefully we can get these 'fartcan' kids excited about displacement.

I agree 100%. Modern youth has become too obsessed with the gayness commonly know as "rice". We need more American muscle out on the roadways.
