Perf / $ = GT 500
Perf, Ride = Cad

Drag strip beast = stang
Daily driver = cad

I suppose I agree on all counts here. The CTS-V is easily the superior machine in terms of comfort/ride, handing, braking, utility etc. It is a bit more $ though and would be out performed at the strip mod for mod.

Well stock car to stock car the CTS-V 0-60 should dust the Shelby GT-500 and has a higher top end speed.
They are both heavy cars and same in weight of 4,000 lbs.+ with the CTS-V having more power of the two.

more room, more quality, better ride, V all the way.

if I didnt want an 800/month car payment, I would have one already.

True, that's why I said "at the strip" not just street 0-60. The V is far and away the better car, that is for sure. The GT500 might be the better drag strip warrior... but then again if you're buying a car to buy a drag car I don't think a 4k+ lbs $50k Mustang is a good call either. Go V!

And again the Mustang like all the rest of their sub models all have a solid rear axle which certainly doesn't help for comfort or handling. Perhaps the collector value of the GT-500 will prevail over the CTS-V since they are numbered or limited production?
Which car will be more maintenance or reliable? They both have superchargers.

CTS-V all the way, the GT500 is an overpriced tank. At least with the V you know where the money was spent

And I Know that solid rear axle won't have a comfortable ride like the CTS-V will.

I actually have nothing against Fords/Mustangs either.... hell I owned a couple of stangs back in the 90's (1992 LX 5.0 hatch and a 1994 Cobra) and loved them both. I just have a hard time paying the kind of money they want for a horse/buggy suspension car with a huge engine in it... for the amount of power they make Im not impressed with the numbers.

I own and am the original owner of a 1988 Mustang GT in pristine condition. Problem with these cars is that they are too rough riding on the torn up roads and unsafe in the rain. Use it for daily driver to protect C-6.

Default Not a hater but......

.......have you ever ridden in a Stang. The suspension leaves much to be desired particularly compared to the CTSV.

Add about 4K$ (to the V) and I think the stang would have its hands full not to mention the obvious quality difference (ride, comfort, smooth accelleration).

It is a true sleeper.

I have just sold my 2009 CTSV and will take delivery of the 2010 Thursday (tommorrow).

What are the 2010 CTS-V going for? Is this off the floor or special ordered?

Default Found one in Autotrader

I found it in Autotrader.

Paid Invoice - sold the 2009 to my business partner.

~ $66.5 completely loaded.

The Shelby is a cool car and sounds great. Stock it will not keep up with the V.

According to R&T (The one's I trust):
GT500KR 0-60 4.7 ,0-100 10.2 ,1/4 12.9
CTSV 0-60 4.1 ,0-100 8.8 ,1/4 12.3

I did one of those "build your own" and the one I priced with the way I want it equipped (Not fully optioned) came to $68,000

Why did you sell it? Problems with CTS-V? Maintenance?

The KR is much slower than the 2010 GT500. I would like to see the two vehicles run head to head. The Ford is a pig but still much lighter than the Caddy and it handles better.
I know stock 09 Vs are making over 450rwhp and that the first "500hp" Shelbys weren't even putting 400 at the wheels. I think that the new ones may still be a bit optimistically rated but the power is pretty easy to unlock.
They are both buses, but if I am going to have a two ton muscle car I would take the luxury of the Cadillac as well.
I am not sure how anyone could even ask which one had the more comfortable ride.
