Default Took a new 370Z Nismo out today

my neighbor picked one up last month and let me take it for a spin today and i was surprisingly impressed.....interior is sweet, much nicer than my base C6....very quick but loses power on the top end of the rpm range...handles tight but i was surprised how much the rear end tried to whip around on turns...the ride was horrible in my opinion, bumps would literally bounce the car off line and it just felt cheap, similar to the altima i rented last summer. I decided to let my neighbor take mine out, with me in the passenger seat of course, and i think it depressed him because he was 100% sure his car was superior until he drove mine......the only thing he could say was " I cant believe this is a base model". In the end its a Nissan, enough said.

I had a 350Z that I sold before getting my Vette. Nice car, a little low in the torque department, does not compare to the Vette IMHO.

The 3.7L V6 is a great engine, but it's no LS.

Same here...had a 2005 Roadster that I ultimately traded for my Vette. The car was a lot of fun, actually! Not Vette-level fun, but fun nonetheless!

I've been curious how the new 370 compared to the old 350 on the road.

I have a 350z that I commute 90 miles a day with. It's not as fast and doesn't handle as well as my LT4 but overall it's a great car and fun to drive.

I drove my brothers 300Z.If youve never driven a vette the 300Z would make you happy. If you do drive a vette that FEELING nissan talks about would be that of dissapointment. However I do love the satiny finish on the wheels and overall good looking s.c.

when I got my vette I was considering a new 370, or a used vette in the same price range. I drove two 370's and I like them, but I had to go with the vette. The 370's rev matching feature is nifty, but it gave me that guilty feeling of substituting technology for skill. i'm surprised how few 370's I've seen on the road. I've only seen 2 so far...

Rice burners! I don't understand why people buy them, hears a novel idea why don't we keep the American $$ here in the USA and not help the economy of other countrys????

My wife had a 350Z and didn't I care for it. I hardly ever drove it because the ride was so bouncy I'd get nauseous. The car was quick but does not compare to a Corvette or any other quality sports car in my opinion. I have higher hopes for the 370Z.

I had a 350z before my c6 and I was going to either get a new 370z or a used c6. I drove the auto 370z and the 7speed actually was really quick and overall better quality, feel, and build than the 350z and the C6. the auto 370z actually is quicker than the manual 370z. it has gotten a 13.1 1/4 mile from a Z forum member and a the car magazines also got a 13.1. I ended up getting a used C6 cause i got it for $33.5K 3LT with nav. If i got all those options in a new 370z it would be around $41K. The c6 is so much better than the 350z but compared to a 370z it all depends on what you are looking for. as far as all out speed the c6 of course is better but I felt the 370z(not 350z) handles better than the vette and is built better inside and out. Looks of course are subjective. I like both looks for different reasons. I have read the nismo 370z is a pure track car and drives really rough in the real world with bumps...that's why it felt that way. I like both cars but i went with the all out speed aspect of the C6 on my decision.

I went to sit in the new 370Z when it came out. It has a beautiful interior but it has the same problem as the 350Z, my head is in the ceiling, and I'm only 6'3".

No offense but your comparing a brand new car to a 4 year old car?? Try driving a brand new vette and then making your silly statements like......"370 handles better than the vette and is built better inside and out"

I saw this mag. test too. I'll believe a stock 370 can run 13.1 when I see it. In other words never.

370Z is a very nice car, but it's competition for the Camaro, not the Vette. If your friend really thought that his car was better than a Vette, then he's a little delusional. They are completely different classes of car.

I have driven my son's 2009 Infiniti G37 Coupe (4 wheel drive) and although it is a 7 speed, it does not have low end torque or pickup like a Corvette. Nice interior and all kinds of gadgets. Nice ride too. Corners well.

Yeah considered a newer model 350z before looking at the vette. It doesnt compare in any aspect but its still a fun car to drive. I remember someone on here saying

"Sometimes its more fun to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slow"

I think that applies to most japanese sport cars IMO

The match rev feature is actually pretty cool. You can turn it off if you preferred.

I don't think it's a coincidence that the most illiterate posts here come from the newest members. I've never driven the 350/370Z but have read reviews that equate it to be a decent handling car. I like my Corvette but honestly it has serious handling shortcomings when you consider the cost of the vehicle. Just my two cents.

I drive a Civic Si as a daily driver and while it is peppy enough the problem with the little engines is that when you drive them fast everyone knows you are hammering it and it is kinda embarrasing having a pickup truck hang right there with you while you give it your all.

Same problem with the 350Z, a lady I work with drives one, she wanted to "race" me and I didn't have the heart to tell her I was giving it less than half throttle as it sounds like her car is about to burn up next to me. (I'm sure the 370 is a stouter car)

I heard they had severe tire eating issues with the 350, I wonder if they improved it so they can get 5 digit miles out of them.
