Which car should I get next???
Hey guys
I'm new to the forum but have been reading many posts for a while now, and love all the info i've gotten. I have an 06 atomic orange vette (auto), with heated leather seats, and just installed a Corsa Sport catback exhaust, which I love.
I need an unbiased opinion on which car I should get next... kinda want a convertible...
besides the 06 vette, I also have an 07 Mercedes GL450 SUV(family hauler), and an 08 Civic Si sedan (daily driver).
I want to spend around $22K for the next "play" car lol...my choices are:
1. 2001-2002 Porsche Boxster S, 6-speed manual. with lower miles (30-40K miles they can be had for this price.) I used to own one before crashing it and I loved it
2. Honda S2000. some go for $13000-$22,000 depending on year and mileage
Test drove one, loved how it drove but the torque off the line SUCKS (153 lb-ft torque...guess i got spoiled with the vette lol)
3. Nissan 350Z convertible, 6-speed manual. nice car...kinda common, heavy but with alot of power for the price.
if you had to choose, which one of these 3 would you choose? and why? or any other suggestions?
BTW, i'm not trading in any cars, just want to add #4 to my collection

As long as you are keeping the Corvette, I would go:
1. Boxster S - Nice car, still on the market, and it is a Porsche
2. Nissan 350Z - Not my cup of tea, but a decent car, and still on the market.
3. Honda S2000 - Reputation as a great sports car, but complaints have been the low torque. Specs good, and I have respect, but I think they are ugly. Plus, discontinued. Consideration for eventual resale (no, they won't become a classic!)
I'd go with the Boxster S as a second sports car. But if I could have only one... Corvette C6!! Shames the rest!

P then the Z (kinda partial to the 350Z though, since I had one for quite a while). Don't care for the Honda.

If your looking at those cars you should look at the BMW M Roadsters too. That is a fun car to drive. It has great torque for a little car.

boxster is def. a girls car. No offense, but I laugh every time someone pulls up next to me in one. I would go z, then s2000. The Z can be made to look pretty mean and if you ever wanna drop a turbo in it, you can make some good power. It is very heavy though.

The Boxster has gotten the "Chick car" stigma but it is a very fun car to drive, it is balanced and has a great sound to it, the S moves out fairly well too. I would definately go with the P car. The Honda is fun but I just dont think it can deliver the same drive as the Porsche. The Z is a nice car too but will likely deliver a driving sensation most similar to your vette (out of the three cars you posted).... I would think the name of the game with adding another car to your stable is to get something that has an entirely different feel to it.

Boxster
I would definitely go with the Boxster. You can probably find an "S" for a decent price. Further, and as you already know, they are very reliable and can be upgraded a bit. You cant beat the handling in the price/performance range.
I have owned a Boxster, 997S, and now a AWD 997 TT with 560 Ft# and RWHP. They take a beating and keep on ticking.

I'd suggest paying off your mortgage or investing your money rather than buy any of these cars you mentioned.. but...if I were chosing?
I'd chose the boxster s..
If I remember correctly...GM execs suggested the boxster s was really one of the greatest competitors from a fun way to drive standpoint...

350z, then boxster, then s2000. Like it was mentioned earlier, for the money, consider the M roadster. I learned how to drive a stick in one of those and man are they fun. I may even consider buying one this winter if prices drop a little bit.

Consider a Chrysler crossfire SRT. Low 13s or high 12s with very little work for way under 22k. Really a cheaper mercedes underneath. forget resale.
