I like Maserati but it'll always come off as Ferrari Lite: I want Italian but I don't want in your face flamboyant. What's the point?

They still sound nice though and the MC12 is very striking and beautifully crafted.

Did you ever end up with a Maserati?

One thing to consider now that some time has gone by, the later (2007 and newer) Quattroportes had avail in 07 then standard starting in 08 a ZF true automatic trans. That removed the horror story clutch job$ of the F1 cars and makes fluid changes about all you have to do. A ZF car can be found now for under $40k.

That said, I LOVE my F1 equipped grocery getter!

The QPs are truly gorgeous - the best looking sedan of the last decade, bar none.

Beautiful car SMSC1, bordeaux pontevecchio was our second choice, we ended up with a special order F-color, pozzi blue.

Now...if only you moved up to the 19's or 20's instead of the 18's that you have, the car would have an even more pronounced stance.

Oh...and an update for the OP, now that almost a couple of years have past, my QP has 50k miles and not needing the second clutch yet (remember the first replacement was at 20k miles), and my Coupe has 17k miles, and I am hoping I can get maybe 5k more miles out of the original clutch.

I have worn through a set of rear tires though since the last post (Hankook V12's, too soft compound, lasted 10k miles), and my Michelins are beginning to near the wear bars (10k miles, maybe another 3k-5k miles left).

I'm currently in the market for a QP. Need the back seat for kids and the car is on a different level than a Vette IMO. Nice thread...

I was in your same position 18 months ago. I had a new (first) baby on the way and the Vette just wasn't going to get used at all. I sold the Vette (ZO6) and my C55AMG and reduced to two cars. Once my daughter was facing front I went back into the market and ended up buying a 996 Turbo and she rides in the back. It would have been nice having a fun sporty car all of the time, but it in the end I'm glad I downgraded for a while and now can enjoy the rush of a fun car once again.

You won't regret losing the Vette and you'll find something fun, and practical, that'll put the same smile on your face. Plus, there are so many Corvettes out there you can pick up another one any time.
