Default 68-72 Skylarks, buying advice?

So I found a few Skylarks I'm interested in, all have 350s one is stick and two are auto. This will be for my girlfriend and I, so will probably go with auto. I was just wondering anything in particular I should watch out for these cars when checking them over.

I don't think there's alot to watch out for besides standard homework you would do on any car before purchase....vehicle history, check body for past collisions/repairs, check frame, check undercarriage, check engine...etc. Unless this is a super serious numbers matching muscle car...I wouldn't sweat it too much. Just do the basics, look for a good deal for the money and enjoy!!

Check out the trunk floor around the wheel wells. Very comon leak at the base of the rear window let's in water and that lets the floor rot out.

I sold my '70 Skylark a few years ago. Mine was in great shape (garage kept 30k mile car) but needed some interior work. That ended up being a huge pain because mine was a post car and nobody makes reproduction seat covers for post cars which have slighty wider front and rear bench seats. It ended up looking great when I was done, but I would suggest looking for a non-post car.

Also, I'm biased but the 1970 model has the most power and looks the best! It was a great car.

Had a '72 skylark convertible, 350 auto, light blue white interior with white top. power everything, even a power top that worked correctly. Was a great car, wish I still had it.

Had a '65 Buick Special (similar to Skylark)...keep in mind, no parts are interchangeable with Chevy 350s....Buick had it's own

A lot of 'em seem to have Chevy small blocks now! Same thing goes for LeMans and Cutlasses.
