2011 Ariel Atom 3 demonstration Feb. 26 in north Texas by FourFather Eddie Hill
At Eagles Canyon Raceway Saturday Feb. 26, Eddie Hill will be running, showing, and telling about his new Ariel Atom 3 demonstrator. The track is about 12 miles northeast of Decatur, Tx., on highway 51, and the forecast is for mid-70's and mostly sunny. It is a fun track, with friendly folks, and the new Atom is great! Love to have you!

Pricey? Really? Don't you have a 996TT? Even used I think a (clean) 996TT will cost you more than an Atom, and a 997 will be way more (let alone a brand new 997.2TT).
My buddy is building an Atom 3 right now and will be well under $60k into it. I believe his roller was in the mid/high-40s and he's building out his own drivetrain (K24, hybrid trans to get optimal final drive and gearing etc.).
I'll let Eddie speak for his specific car, but the Atom 3 is not a V8 car. The V8 car is the Atom 500. Most (all?) of the Atom 3s use Honda drivetrains, and in general the K20.

So, yes, I consider the $60K atom to be a very pricey car

I guess the gear box is the problem with the Atom ? If they can fit a small *** V8 in there why can't you shoe horn a Gen 111 in there. Then it would sound like a real car and not a bike ? I still love them in any configuration but I feel there is something missing (besides the doors) ? Stewy

I've had my first Ariel Atom II for about four years now. Jay Leno took #1, and I took #72, Chevy 2.0 liter Ecotec powered. I have over 6000 miles and smiles on my 2006 model, about half and half track and street.
My dealership, www.eddiehillsfuncycles.com, has been the exclusive Ariel Atom dealer for All of Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas, for just about a year now. My new 2011 Ariel Atom 3 is my company demonstrator, and it is Honda 2.0 liter Type R, K20A, with the factory-equipped Jackson supercharger and the Honda six-speed. 300 HP and 1325 pounds. My 2006 model pulls 1.6 to 1.7 gee in turns, on slicks.

Would you need to be a supporting vendor to be posting advertising things like this? I believe the rules state that you must be a supporting vendor to market products that you sell and distribute as opposed to single car sales. Just wondering. Cool car. How is the V8? Is it overkill?

My TraqMate data recorder gave me the following info from my best lap in the last session at Eagles Canyon last Saturday.
Lap time 1:58.2
Maximum gee:
Braking-1.45
Accelerating 1.08
Right gee (turning left) 2.20
Left gee (turning right) 1.98
This on my 2011 Ariel Atom 3. I put new Hoosier A6 tires on the stock wheels, but NO other changes or adjustments. The alignment, ride height, suspension settings, engine, etc. all just as it came.
That is very close to my best times with my 2006 Atom II with a modified Chevy Ecotec engine and huge Formula Atlantic slicks on it! I am VERY HAPPY with this new Atom 3!!

I'm not being negative at all but looking at the Atom from an outside opinion, I would like to see a more aggressive looking model. I think it looks a little to neutral. I think it would be a better seller if it had maybe more aggressive lines on the body and aggressive wheels. I realize the car is probably the fastest road going car on earth, I would like to see something more WoW in the looks dept for the dollar. Anyway those numbers you posted are just mind blowing. I have to drive one of those Atoms one day. I just have to drive one your a lucky man ....... Stewy

Here is the gee graph on my new 2011 Ariel Atom 3 at Eagles Canyon Raceway last Saturday. My Atom 3 is completely stock, just as it came from the factory, with no modifications or adjustments at all, except for Hoosier A6 tires that I put on the original wheels.
The inner circle is 1.25 gee, and the outer circle is 2.5 gee.
HUGE FUN!!
