I still have an S14 I bought new. Test drove an M3 before I bought my C5Z and ended up with C5, tested E92 and it is nice and it is fun but ended up with the C6Z. I guess I will never get the feel and sound of the Vette out of my system. Loved since I was a kid. Enjoy your M they are nice cars.

to be honest I got sorta bored of the z06 I was running 11.3 with bolt ons... i was going to get banned at e-town unless i cut the interior up with a cage... I didnt want to do that to such an expensive car so i figured ill play with something else...
I will re-scoop up a vette probably in a few years to build into a track car either a c5z or c6z depending on the depreciation of it

Obviously it was financially benefficial, but no. I hated driving a cobalt, which is what the Corvette felt like unless I was getting on it or hitting curves. The 370z is a much nicer car, and I only miss the z06 every now and then. The z06 is awesome in the performance department, but every other benchmark is in the $15-18,000 econo car category. Seats sucked, stereo bad, nav so outdated I didn't even bother getting it. As a $75k car, it was a failure anywhere but the track. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh, but I think people need to be a bit harsh. It's a problem that needs fixing, and I hope the c7 fixes it.

Congrats on picking up the M3. IMO it is the best combo of performance/daily driver car on the road today. I sold my E92 M3 six months ago and miss it so much so that I am in the process of getting another one. Drove that car comfortably 3 hours to VIR, tracked it for a day and drove it home the next morning. Performed flawlessly.

I turn the stereo off so I can hear the roar of the motor

Good luck with the new ride! M3's are nice as hell. Just be prepared for the costs if you have to replace anything on your own. They perform great on the track, are super comfortable, semi-reliable, great luxury options, renowned BMW refinement. But, I'm not sure if I could trade a vette in for one, not much can compare to the feeling of a v8 torque monster. And I still say the e46 m3 was the last pure M car. Regardless, if I were to go to any other sports car, it would definitely be a BMW. Wish you luck with your new beast!

I don't live my life one 1/4 mile at a time. For $75k, I expect a vehicle that doesn't make a Chevy cruze seem like a luxury car. There is only so much roaring of the motor that you can safely and prudently enjoy on public roads. It took a few tickets in my teens for me to figure it out, and a z06 to punctuate the lesson, but if its not fun to drive sanely, I won't own it. I wanted a hardcore badass car, but I didn't think about how much it would bore me in reality. If I did hpde, I would totally have kept it, though. But I don't. I drive on public roads.
