327 question
Guys I am getting ready to build a 327 for my 66 El Camino I know this isn`t the place but I value you folks opinion. I am going to use the stock iron 65cc small valve heads, 9.5 to 1 pistons, cast iron exhaust manifolds, Edelbrock performer intake and 600cfm carb and hook it to the Powerglide. I want a cam that will work with the stock converter, sound good, pull strong and still have good street manners. I have looked at a Comp Cams X4254H and it looks like exactly what I want what do you guys think is there a better cam that you know of.

True, but I got amazing results when I switched from a solid lifter Isky, to the "151" GM cam for my 67SS350. Stock heads, but ran high 11's instead of mid-12s. I didn't have to set the idle at 1800 Rpms, either.
